A Peek At Our Vintage Cottage Nursery Project Progress!

We've made a little progress on this design project that we post about back in May, so I wanted to bring you some updates! Especially now that the Serena & Lily wallpaper is in - it makes such a difference in the space! Despite its teensy tiny print, the sweetness factor is out of control... vintage cottage inspired nursery makeover on coco kelley

Now that the room is coming together, I feel like I can officially label it as a 'vintage cottage' vibe. I love the way the wallpaper is playing off the other prints in the room, and now that that is taken care of, we've got a big punch list of finishing off to do. On this side of the room, the big fiddle fig needs to be repotted and trimmed back. We're hanging a mobile above the changing table, to distract bebe when she's getting her nappies changed, and considering some art here too!

We're also thinking a lamp on this big changing table will help add some softer light to the room! Sara is so good at shopping her own home for items like these, so we're pulling together some pieces to see how they work before buying anything.pretty pink vintage chair in the nursery | vintage cottage inspired nursery makeover on coco kelleyserena and lily felt sheep head wall decor | vintage cottage inspired nursery makeover on coco kelley

In this corner where the chair is now, we're actually thinking about bringing the cute lambs head over  so it's not so lonely over there on the wall. What do you think? Another option would be to hang it over the entry to the closet.

Sara's decided that the vintage chair is staying for now, instead of splurging on a rocker. Once baby arrives, we'll see if she's still loving that idea! Because they have a fairly large master bedroom, they're not anticipating using the nursery much right away, so there's a lot of room to grow into this space in the first few months, which is nice! designing a vintage cottage inspired nursery makeover on coco kelleyfelt bunting and serena and lily wallpaper | vintage cottage inspired nursery makeover on coco kelley

On the other wall, we've got this cute felt bunting that Sara threw up there just to see how it felt! There are two strands here, so I was thinking these might actually go above the dresser for some quiet swag, and then this corner gets all the art! And before you scold me for putting art above the crib, the plan is to keep it pulled away from the wall enough that it can't cause any trouble. our plans for this nursery makeover | vintage cottage inspired nursery makeover on coco kelley

Obviously, this is where the crib is going!! It just hasn't arrived yet. We're anxious to get it in here to see how it really changes the space. I think the fresh white against this vintage rug is going to be great!

We're also thinking a little open book shelving in here?? Sara and I have been doing a little research but haven't found just the right thing quite yet. Plus we want to get the crib in first to make sure that this is the best setup for the space! baby clothes storage | vintage cottage inspired nursery makeover on coco kelley

Last but not least? Getting organized!! These drawers were deep enough to double up on some ikea bins that are currently stuffed with a serious collection onesies and diapers. We've still got to put the little closet together, and add some finishing touches but it's almost there! Can't wait to share the reveal with you when it's done!!
