The Edit :: A Fresh January

I don't typically tackle redecorating in January. First off - bank accounts are usually pretty drained from the holidays, and second, it's usually a time for purging, not adding more! But in my case, the living room that was supposed to have been done in November is now staring at me on the daily in January, begging to be finished off.

So, I've been shopping. And in the process I've realized... January is actually a great time to redecorate. My thoughts are clearer, there are still quite a few sales going on, and all the new pre-spring collections are out!

Not so coincidentally, this month's Shopping Edit is feeling a lot like the palette I'm trying to infuse into the living room - and the rest of the house. Something that works for the Pacific Northwest (greens and blues) but appeals to my Southern California roots too. Ironically, it all feels very fresh and icy and perfectly winter as well.

So I guess you could say that these are selections for all seasons, which makes them pretty much perfect. january shopping picks from coco kelley | the edit

1. ribbed glass water carafe | 2. 'big blue' artwork | 3. pom pom pillow | 4. mint green (and black!) planter | 5. green mirror | 6. shape shifter wallpaper | 7. black console side table | 8. white table lamp | 9. offset brown and cream stripe rug | 10. blue velvet side chair

Per usual, there are some selections on here that I've already purchased or have my eye on. The planters at Urban Outfitters are on sale right now, so I stocked up on a few for the new office! And that black console from Target is SUCH a good steal, I might get it for the office too. I think it would look perfect in our entryway, stacked with books and plants. Also, I've been avoiding an Ikea run, but I might just have to make one purely for that green mirror!
