Matte black isn't just a trend in the hardware department these days - it's going bigger (and better!?) with appliances! Now before you gasp at the memory of that horrid black fridge you had in your first rental apartment, take a look at how these sleek black stainless steel appliances from Whirlpool Brand played into a mini-makeover of my sister's kitchen - just in time for Christmas!
My sister and her boyfriend live in your typical Seattle townhouse, and they've started making some small updates to the home recently. The kitchen is one space they knew they wanted to elevate, but didn't want to spend a fortune on.
With the room being on the smaller size, they wanted it to feel less busy, and a lot more fresh! Solution number one? Swap out the typical stainless steel appliances they had in there before with the Whirlpool Fingerprint-Resistant Black Stainless Steel appliances!
While we certainly made some other updates to the space while we were at it (more on that soon), installing new appliances made a HUGE difference visually. The black fits seamlessly with the cabinets, and the style elevates the space. They've already been so happy with the functionality of everything too. The dishwasher and microwave are much more quiet, and the layout and lighting in the fridge is fantastic!
You can see here that the kitchen is open to the living room (and dining room!) so they also use this space a ton for entertaining. So, the large capacity in the fridge - especially for beverages - has come in handy already for the holidays! And the clean look of the space helps it feel even more open and fresh, so mission accomplished there!
The surfaces even inspired them to add a matte black faucet to compliment the appliances! Overall, I think this kitchen feels much more cohesive than it did before, and I know that my sis is loving cooking in here these days, now that the updates are all complete. I'm excited for them to keep renovating the space in the future, but for now, I think this mini makeover is really doing the trick!
