The Future Kept :: A Curated Shop & Journal
While I'm mostly in the habit of featuring light and airy spaces around here, the truth is that moody greys are what I'm living in this time of year. Up in Seattle this week has been particularly dark and dreary. Last week's crisp (and frigid!) sunshine feels like it was months ago.
So when I happened upon these beautiful, dark photos by The Future Kept, I felt drawn into them...
Based in East Sussex, Jeska & Dean's shop is filled with a selection of beautiful handmade goods, many of which seem to be inspired or discovered by their travels. And while their little online storefront is lovely, I have to admit that it was their journal that really drew me in.
I'm utterly obsessed with this kitchen. The perfect combination of modern updates and traditional English country. The elongated subway tile with dark grout is striking. The home was designed by Field Day Studio whose portfolio of projects has quite the range and very fun. Worth a check out!
The images styled and shot by the couple make me realize why it is I crave timeworn pieces so much. They add a coziness to a space that even in the most dreary weather offers up warmth.
I'm noting this intense mustard green for future use. It's bold but timeless in its own way.
Have you noticed how that dark teal green keeps surfacing in these spaces? My favorite color.
And, of course, a few favorite selections from their shop...
Beautiful shots! I love the colour as well.

I ADORE warm wood paired with dark blues & whites. There’s something soothing about it IMO. Makes me feel cozy & safe.
Those blue and white pendants are amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that before.
I love the teal too!! And the mixed cabinet colors in their kitchen are all gorgeous! I completely agree about time-worn pieces. There isn’t a replica or new piece in the world that can replace the charm of a beautifully worn and loved piece!
I also tend to pin and post about clean/modern interiors but there is just something about those dark and cozy rooms that makes me feel like curling up with a good book. I am also from Seattle and totally get what you mean about the dreary weather!
Those light fixtures are all to die for!
