How To Style :: A Modern Holiday Mantel
If there's one area of the home I love styling, it's a fireplace mantel - especially for the holidays! So when ATG Stores asked if I could create a few different holiday styles with products from their site, I was alllllll over it.
Out of the three we styled, I think this was my favorite... although it's really hard to choose once you see the others! When imagining what a modern holiday mantel would look like, I wanted to go really non-traditional. But that didn't mean we couldn't still include some traditional elements...
Nutcrackers, greenery, even a garland and a 'wreath' are all here! They've just been made a little more minimalist in nature.
The nutcrackers are what inspired this whole look for me in the first place. With their natural wood tones, they're already a bit more minimalist in nature than the brightly decorated ones we're used to seeing. Building a neutral, metallic scheme around them was easy!
The candlelight and eucalyptus are a huge part of the style equation here. They soften and break up all the white and keep things feeling wintery and holiday in spirit. We DIY'd the garland with some painted wood beads and bakers twine to add something a little fun and geometric!
For the record, I love using objects in place of a wreath over mantels. Something that still feels bright and 'holiday' like this brass starburst is just perfect!
Wanna see how I used this trick in the other styles? Check out all three looks right here!
Our 'Woodsy' holiday mantel is all natural and nature inspired. And, for you traditionalists, a very cozy classic look right here. And of course you can get all the sources for this mantel over on ATG Stores. I'm curious to find out which look is your favorite!
Gorgeous! I love the candles x

Love, love, love how clean and linear this is!! I am a clutter-phobe, and holiday decor can be the worst offender. This looks so chic and modern – and not cluttered!
We absolute love this! 🙂
Where did you get the nutcrackers from?
Hi Roxana – all of the products we used were from a store called ATG, which is no longer in business. If you’d like to find some similar ones, I’d suggest searching for ‘natural wood nutcrackers’! Good luck!
Thanks so much. They are beautiful, the perfect shades and not creepy looking at all ! Hope to find something similar.
Managed to find them they are Christian Ulbricht. Thank you so much !
