One Room Inspiration :: Minimal Moroccan
If you've been following Cassandra during her adventures in Morocco, you've probably caught the travel bug just like I have. It's no surprise this month's One Room Inspiration is a minimal Moroccan hotel that is filled with color and charm. Take a look at the impressive Hotel Riad El Fenn.
This hotel first popped up in my feed last December thanks to Rue Magazine, and since I've been drooling over the Cass' travels on the coco+kelley instagram feed, I knew it needed to resurface! The rich color palette adds wonder and warmth to this Marrakesh retreat. Could you imagine vacationing here?!
I'd love to explore every inch of this hotel, including the rooftop terrace below. The textiles against the terra cotta are a gorgeous extension of the color palette. The bold patterns and use of line are the perfect representation of a zen-like Moroccan scene. More importantly, how about the cacti?! For some reason I've been on a large cactus craze and have made it my new goal to find a super amazing one.
Much like myself, I assume you guys are trying formulate a plan that will end in a Moroccan getaway. In the meantime, while I'm saving money and gathering the funds, here's how to bring Morocco to your home...
1. handwoven moroccan basket // 2. moroccan glass pendant // 3. small planter // 4. vintage moroccan rug // 5. terra-cotta planter // 6. carved wood coffee table // 7. metal wall sconce // 8. linen antique red loveseat // 9. linen cushion cover
It’s all about recreating the key elements. Think of a vintage handmade berber rug on a cool tile floor, with carved wood accents, sheer drapery, linen and natural materials like the woven basket. Use the basics and keep it simple- the minimal look works really well without feeling forced; mixing in a modern piece like the wall sconce updates the entire space. Would you visit Morocco or bring the style into your home? -Sarah
