I don't know how many times I hear from friends and clients, "I don't want to invest too much, this is a rental, after all." And then three years later they're still living in that same rental with that same 'good enough' decor...
Well, this space is the opposite of that story. A rental-turned-home in less than a month, this room proves that it pays to invest in your home - whether permanent or not!
I love how soft and inviting this space is. The piles of texture in the pillows, rug and blankets, along with the warm white walls create a dreamy, relaxing seating area and the rugs do double duty in covering up a less-than-ideal wood floor.
The two more 'masculine' chairs flanking that ultra-feminine fireplace are a perfect juxtaposition, and the modern lines in the furniture help to ease the very traditional architecture.
There are some nice plays on scale here too with some of the accessories - like the miniature marble tables hosting an oversized vase. With the seating all low to the ground too, you feel like you're sinking into the space...
I'm also appreciating that while there are many 'global' accessories going on in the space, it still feels fresh and classic - a perfect combination in my book, and one that i'll be going for in my own living room soon as well!
And how perfect is that little seating nook by the window - a great way to fill a space and provide its own little moment.
