Home Tour :: A Stylist’s Sunny Seattle Abode
Long before I actually met Tiffany Wendel, I had stumbled upon her blog, not realizing that she was in Seattle. She's a personal stylist whose look I instantly loved, which makes sense considering she (like me) is a former California girl. So when I finally got to meet her - and got a peek into her home - it was no surprise that her cheery personality was infused into her decor too...
The yellow sofa shares another trait with its owner besides a sunny disposition - it expresses her love of vintage (just wait until you see her closet!).
When I asked Tiffany what pieces in her home best represented her personality, however, she paused and said... "the flamingos" because they "lend a sense of humour to the space". And we both instantly agreed that the best kind of design is the kind that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Sidenote: the artwork behind the pink pair was done by her talented twin sister Tracy Rocca.
Across from the living room, the dining room lends some more bold touches, and a super unique DIY done by Tiffany with the help of some nailheads and cowhide. With them she created a permanent 'tablecloth' for the worn dining table and covered it with a sheet of glass. It's badass. The wave art is - of course - a nod to her California days.
Two stunning pendants top the all white kitchen. I love that it at once feels modern and fresh but down to earth with the checkered floors and farmhouse-style details.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is calm, cool and collected...
With a pop of fuchsia of course. You can see the mix of antique, vintage and new shine through in this space.
And don't get me started on the closet! We're going to save that one for a whole other post, I think.
Downstairs, the dreamy guest room is where Tiffany snaps pics for her instagram and blog posts of her ensembles.
And in the bath? Wouldn't you know - another pair of flamingos in a paint-by-number art piece hang on the saturated blue walls.
I love the happy vibe of this cheerful home, don't you? To see more of it, hop over to the pinterest board later where I'll have the whole tour posted with some outtakes!

I love the navy walls in the bedroom, but you wrote above the bedroom was baby seal black, isn’t the room navy and white??
The name (and photo) are somewhat deceiving. The color comes across very navy in the photo, but in reality the paint is a dark grey with a blue undertone. In bright light, it looks navy! In dark light it looks grey.
I’m in love! It’s light and modern, but with a dose of retro whimsy. The flamingos are fabulous…and that guest bedroom might be my new happy place. Gorgeous pics!

WOW! I can’t even make up my mind on which room I like the best. Everything looks fabulous.

Ooh that kitchen! Perfect inspiration! I’ve got a house in Portland I’ll eventually be renovating and one of my goals is to make it feel bright, which I’m guessing could be challenge in Seattle too. Love her bright and cheerful happy style!
obsessed with the paint by number flamingos! lots of variations of decor with the flamingo trend but this is by FAR my favorite.. how can i get my hands on this??
Molly, it’s a vintage piece so your best luck is searching for a similar one on ebay or etsy!
LOVE! Can you tell me more about the piece above the mantle? I’m in love. Great post Cass xoxo
[…] What a gorgeous sunny Seattle home tour. […]
oh my goodness! Those were my hand painted pillows on her bed! Love how they look!
[…] big, beautiful breakfast spreads / reminders / high-contrast bedrooms […]
I’m loving that “Baby Seal Black”! On my monitor, it looks like a really dark navy. Is it a black or a dark navy color in person?
It’s very navy! The name is deceiving!
Do you have any information on the southwestern rug in the master bedroom? (in the navy/black bedroom)
[…] with simple white, but the other mix of genres really makes this bedroom feel modern and cool. This last one is so intriguing because of where the designer has chosen to start the dark wall color. […]
Do you think your paint treatment in the master bedroom, where the top section of the walls are white would look strange if one of the walls was fully painted that color? My bedroom is painted white with one wall that has a fireplace with closets on either side and niches above each closet, and that one wall is painted a dark blue. I think the half white wall would look strange on that wall since it’s already very visually broken up between the fireplace mantle, the niches, the closets, and the closet trim, but I’m starting to want a cozier room and dislike the other three white walls.

Thanks
I’m sorry, I don’t have that information Kathy! I’ll try and find out!
