A Whimsical Wonderland Tabletop
It's funny how holidays can evoke a certain mood from year to year. Last Christmas, I was in the mood for sophisticated, wintery glamour with a frosty, table of white, burgundy and gold. But this year? I'm all about joy in the form of color with this Christmas tabletop inspiration we created around these adorable bottle-brush trees in shades of pink, aqua and teal...
Even the soufflés we whipped up went with the theme - a dusting of 'snow' and a pink raspberry topped those dishes just right...
Our wreath made from honeycomb balls added a simple, fun touch to the wall, while personalized nutcrackers (that we DIY'd!) greet their guests and watch over their gifts...
I loved how the color popped in our all-white studio, bringing a fresh and festive style to the space...
And, of course, a table like this requires a little pop of color from the hostess herself...
Not to mention tidings of comfort and joy on napkins! After all... 'tis definitely the season for indulging guests with a setting that evokes childish delight and just the perfect amount of whimsy to bring a little holiday cheer.

This is amazing. I really like that the set up isn’t your usual red & green. There’s so much we can do to decorate. :] // ▲ itsCarmen.com ▲

I was just admiring those trees at Anthro! What a gorgeous table setting. There was a tutorial over on Beautiful Mess this week to DIY bottle brush trees. It was pretty cute…
This looks like fun just waiting to happen! The non-traditional colors just add an extra smile to the season!

Wow. Those are some pricey trees. There are a couple hundred dollars worth on that table. Seems like a terrible waste of money.
There are plenty of craft stores that offer these cheaper, and ways to make them yourself too!

[…] “As a Los Angeles native, memories of Christmas have always been sunny. Sometimes brisk, but typically always clear skies and sunshine. I give California credit for my love of cheerful colours and subsequently, or so I think, said colours correlate with whimsy. Though red and green are the Christmas staple colours, gradually over the years, I’ve preferred to deviate and take a different approach. This year I call it, Dreaming of a Cute Christmas. This whimsical table setting, styled by Cassandra Lavalle , captures the look I’m trying to achieve. A mix of my favourite colours used on miniature Christmas trees, with a touch of flakes sprinkled throughout, set atop a coral tablecloth create the cute and adorable California mood I’m dreaming of.” Image Credit […]

Hi! Looking to do something similar for my sisters Holiday sweet 16 and we both keep pinning and coming back to this shoot for color inspo! Do you know what exact color the table cloth is? I saw a link but it doesn’t link to the color or similar colors!
Thank you!
Hi! I’m looking to recreate a similar table setting for an upcoming 16th birthday party for my sister and we both keep coming back to this shoot as inspiration for colors!!! Do you happen to have the specific color of table cloth you used for this shoot? I’ve tried to find something similar but none of them seem to look right? I searched through the website linked but wasn’t sure what the color was! Any help would be great and I just love this shoot!
Thank you!
stephanie
The link for the trees is not working!!! Help me!
Hi Ashleigh! Sorry, this is a very old post! The trees were from Anthropologie, but you can try Target or Amazon!
Fantastic stuff! Christmas is just around the corner and this year I want to plan something for my wife as 2020 has been rather hard. She loves Xmas and will also love these ideas!!
