As many of you know, we recently added more office space to our creative studio, and a huge part of the reason for doing so was that we wanted to start hosting events for the Seattle community. Well, I'm super excited to announce my first collaboration with the extremely talented stylist and entertainer, Annette Joseph.
I've been a fan of Annette's since seeing her home tour waaaaay back in the day on design*sponge, and since then had the opportunity to distantly connect with her on some fantastic articles for Rue Magazine. When we finally met in person last year we agreed we had to do something fabulous together, so I'm thrilled to be hosting her for a workshop in our Seattle offices!
The workshop will take place March 22nd, and will cover food photography and prop styling strategies in every aspect, from how to shoot in low or artificial lighting, to shooting and styling 'ugly' food (Have you ever tried to make meat or chili look appetizing in a shot? Not easy!).
We'll be providing a plethora of props, and staging areas so that you can experience a variety of ways to shoot (down shots, tethering, and more!).
Annette's styling skills will be complimented by photographer Deborah Whitlaw Llewellyn - the two of them have been in their industry for over 20 years, so you know their knowledge is vast and valuable for anyone who has an interest in shooting food for their own blog, or as a photographer looking to expand their strengths in this area! I know I will be picking up plenty of tips from this talented duo myself.
If you're interested, please head over to our workshop page for all the details and to reserve your spot! Oh, and I did I mention that all attendees will be receiving a signed copy of Annette's new book Picture Perfect Parties? It's a fantastic resource for party prep, recipes and more!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I'm so excited to be hosting what will be the first of many classes in our new studio space! Hope to see you there.
