RECIPE :: CHURROS + CHOCOLATE DIPPING SAUCE

coco+kelley churro and chocolate sauce recipe

I promised a recipe later today for the three chocolate dipping sauces and I’m here to deliver! Churros alone are delicious, but these chocolate sauces put them over the top! My favorite was the Chocolate Chili because I’m a huge fan of dark chocolate and spice, but they were all amazing! Even the white chocolate [...]

MODERN MEXICANA :: THE TABLETOP

coco+kelley modern mexicana 1

While most of us tend to spend Valentine’s Day with our one and only (or, you know, a box of chocolates), I think it makes things way more fun to spend an evening with all the people we adore, right? (You can go make out with your sweetie later. Nobody wants to see that at the dinner [...]

    I love the idea of this! What better way to show the people you care about that they are important to you even on the most “couple specific” day of the year.

    I would give my left pinky if I could set a table that nicely! You don’t really need your left pinky, do you?

    I LOVE this whole thing. I think celebrating Valentine’s day with all of the people you love is definitely the way to go – and who doesn’t love Mexican food? Are you going to share recipes for some of the things you mentioned? The table setting is really fantastic. The Anthro hand towels work perfectly as placemats.

    I absolutely love Glassybabies and they really give the table that special V-day punch here. And what shows love and gratitude like yummy mexican food? Seriously.

    Mexican Valentine’s dinner, I like it! I love the paper chandelier, it is just so pretty and festive. Would love to do one like that outside this summer. And love the runners too, very cute. And those red rimmed glasses are great.

    Now what about that dessert? ;)

      hi leslie! the red on is ‘love’ (so appropriate, right?) and the white ones are a mix of pearl, hope and cream (i believe). it made me want to add a ton of white ones to my small but growing collection!

    This refreshing, elegant table setting proves there more to Mexican style than sombrero chip bowls and garish colors. I’d love to know where you got your lovely dress!

SAVOIR FARE :: TWO SALADS, ONE STAR INGREDIENT

jj proville for coco+kelley smoked salmon buttermilk salad

If the Northwest has one thing in abundance besides clouds, it surely must be salmon. The fishmongers over at Seattle’s Pike Place Market stock it in absurd quantities, partly to impress gawking tourists, partly because they do sell a tremendous amount. But what do they do with all the salmon that goes past those fleeting [...]

WINTER BEDROOM UPDATES {WITH CALVIN KLEIN}

SHOP SMALL :: A COZY GIFT GUIDE

WINTERIZING

6681501279_476c0fbf61_o

The winter weather in Seattle this season has been insanely good to us – tons of sunshine, mild temps, and barely any evenings where I’ve had to break out the big puffy coat. But this morning there was a sharper chill in the air, and as I peeked at my iphone forecast through sleepy eyes, [...]

    I went to Iceland (and Sweden) last year! So much fun. I would recommend going on a Golden Circle guided tour, seeing the Blue Lagoon and trying one of their famous hot dogs :) Yes, it’s weird, but they are famous for their hot dogs. Can’t wait to hear about your trip!

    Enjoy your trip to Iceland – regret I cannot recommend any place there.
    Toronto, is another story. If you have not been to a wonderful restaurant named “Moroco” 99 Yorkville Ave, Toronto, it is a favourite.

    My favorite hotel in the world is not far from Reykjavik – Hotel Budir. Evidently you can get a helicopter to drop you off there, which might be a good option because driving on the snowy roads is a bit scary if you’re not used to it.

    http://www.hotelbudir.is/

    If you have an overnight flight there, I would recommend Blue Lagoon as your first stop. Beat the crowds and it will turn your day around.

    Sounds perfect! I’ve gone to Copenhagen in January and it was such a memorable trip because it was so cozy!! Candles everywhere, in the streets, in all the shops, bright colors..a whole different vibe. You’re going to love it! Don’t pass up the reindeer meatballs….

    DO NOT MISS the Blue Lagoon. It will be easy to find a bus that stops there on the way to the airport from Reykjavik city center. You can take a dip in the hot springs and leave all nice and relaxed for your flight. Except by that point you definitely won’t want to leave. Perhaps go upon arrival as a magical introduction to the country?
