HOUSE TOUR :: VINTAGE CHIC IN PARIS

a vintage chic living room in paris | coco kelley

Combine the fact that this stunning home is a) in Paris and b) belongs to the Creative Director of Chloé, Clare Waight Keller, and it’s no wonder we had to dive into the layers of style that this house tour provides. The space is full of vintage chic furnishings, accented with beautiful bits of pottery, […]

If you’re a homeowner, you can always put in wood floors. I wanted herringbone, but that rachets up the price considerably (lots more work, if you’re paying a contractor, otherwise just slightly more wood). So we went with planks. Still a big improvement that will stand the test of time and trends.

ONE ROOM INSPIRATION :: A MASCULINE VINTAGE STUDY

mod vintage dark masculine living room via AD Spain

One of the things I love most about having interior design clients is getting to mix up my style a bit! A perfect example of this is a couple we’ve been working with at The Emerald Studio whose vibe is predominantly masculine (they are two men, after all), and decidedly mid-century modern. The stylish duo has been […]

When it comes to creating a gorgeous study, it’s important to consider gender. This is a perfect example that is geared towards men, but it’s also one that women can enjoy, as well. The vintage elements are a nice touch, too.

HOME TOUR :: A CALIFORNIA HACIENDA GOES VINTAGE GLOBAL

hbx040115martin03

There’s something about worldly-designed spaces that make me itch to hop on a plane and explore a newfound place, or own a little piece of history myself someday (hey, a girl can dream). What appears to be an old, historic Spanish Colonial, is actually a brand new Bay Area build with the perfect amount of character. Casa […]

That fireplace! Swoon! Loving so much of this home. So many gorgeous global textiles too! Obsessed with that relief in the bathroom, but I wish they would have let it really shine in the space.

How can everything about this house be so amazing? Seriously. The terrace, the wall tile in the bathroom, the kitchen… it’s honestly one of the prettiest houses I’ve seen.

ROOM OF THE WEEK :: 10.8

megan tagliaferri bar and dining room laure joliet_4

I first fell in love with this home belonging to Megan Tagliaferri when her house tour went up on C Magazine, and I became instantly obsessed with every detail. But there was one room that really captured my attention…this glamorous dining room… with a bar! Whenever I land on a room I love for the Room of […]

While the architecture, floor and table could be called glamorous, I could hardly refer to the other parts of the room with that adjective. The copper looks very odd. But to each his own.

IN THE KITCHEN :: MOD MEETS FARMHOUSE

pop color fruit art in the kitchen via martha stewartjpg

Lately, I’ve been drawn to the idea of bold color in the kitchen – specifically in primary tones of red, blue and yellow. But I’m not talking cabinets or wall paint – I’m talking vintage modern accessories mixed with farmhouse style. Think mod pop art, enamelware canisters, schoolhouse clocks and powder-coated industrial stools… In a super warm […]

I definately agree with you that this is a great idea, by using accessories for that pop of colour!
For me also full on colour for units and walls is too much!!

I love the retro feel of your chioces. Updating with accessories means that if you get bored or decide to move on with a different look then it is much easier to update.
