SIMPLE + SOPHISTICATED :: A THANKSGIVING TABLE

Two weeks from now, my family and a few additional friends will be huddled around a table, pausing from our busy lives to give thanks and do what we do best – share a fantastic meal together. Because, to me, Thanksgiving is about simplicity, and simple joys, I wanted to create a tabletop that conveyed […]

    Wow Wow Wow

    Seriously! What a show stopper.

I am so inspired by this color palette. I am actually on the verge of vamping up my bedroom {hello navy blue walls} and was contemplating letting go of my lavender sheets. Instead, I may need to throw some orange accents into the mix.

    Fab Fab Fab!

Thanksgiving Love! Purchased the same lilac napkins for our table but choosing chartreuse foliage as my centerpiece! My tangerine Glassy Baby’s will provide the 3rd pop of color!

    Your blog is delightful escape!

PREPPING FOR THANKS…

thanksgiving tabletop fall harvest via ruffled blog

I can hardly believe that tomorrow is Thanksgiving, but I’m so… well, thankful, to have the next few days to hit the pause button and spend time embracing the most important things in life: family, friends and food! But today? I’m last-minute planning, as usual. Tonight some friends of mine are throwing a Thanksgiving-Eve dinner […]

Oh, that setting is exquisite. A white pumpkin will be on my list next year. And I tried something, and immediately went back to buy it the next day. It is Salted Caramel Syrup from Monin, and it is out of this world. You taste the sea salt, and I think more of quickly caramelizing vegetables, but yesterday, I was so eager, I cut an appled and dribbled a little syrup over it. I felt one, holy and indivisible.

AND A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU…

One of the things I was most thankful for today? Better lighting in my apartment! I spent the morning re-shooting the whole tabletop and it was absolutely worth it. I hope you enjoy.. The inspiration for this setting came solely from this vintage fabric that I’ve been dying to use in a table design for […]

Beautiful photos and styling Cassandra! I love that you chose a more muted palette for your table rather than the traditionally heavy harvest colors. And better lighting is most definitely something to be excited about and grateful for! Looking forward to many more photos of your beautiful home!!

Oh, my! Guess I got the “bronze” memo, too. For Thanksgiving there was a “touch” of bronze in every place setting (14 this year!) I even painted our front door “Vintage Metallic Bronze” and LUV it! franki

INTO THE WOODS

Let’s face it. I live in Seattle. It’s hard not to get all nature-inspired with tabletops around here. But, that doesn’t mean that a little glamour, a hint of modern styling, or even a bit of english countryside can’t come into play… I always love a little feather detail in my Thanksgiving tabletop, and this […]

Love this post. Every single one of these looks is stunning. I’m smitten with that herringbone vest, though, and the sweet pearl earrings. That table may be my fave, too.

The herringbone and gold tablescape is beautiful, but I’m partial to the first one. I have an affinity for feathers!

    I love the birch placemats!
I might be paying a visit to some of my trees to see if they need any “undressing” :-)

THE 20-MINUTE TABLE…

5207676413_01402bdb5f

How to put together a very last-minute tabletop… Throw down your fabulously wrinkled linen. Forage for last year’s feather decor. Gather your current favorite dishes. Rummage through Christmas decorations for frosted pinecones and icicles. Combine grandmother’s silverware, Ikea black glass votives, and ever-present Moroccan tea glasses. Line glass vase with textured wrapping paper. Tuck into […]
