THE ONE

Sometimes I go through the hundreds of images bookmarked on pinterest or saved to one of my many folders and discover a common theme – a color, a texture, a fabric – but when I looked through the small selection of inspiration images for my own apartment, I realized something big they had in common… [...]

Nathan Turner in LA. I called about it a couple of months ago and they only had smaller sizes left. I think 5×7 is what they told me. Hope that helps!

It’s beautiful! I actually haven’t seen it before (and I see many – many a rug each day…) I’ll keep an eye out for you though!

Will keep a lookout! Have you tried contacting the photographer who took the photo? I’ve tracked paint colours and bed linens down that way! It could take a bit but would be worth getting the rug you really have your heart set on!

It’s a Lisa Fine rug, but I don’t believe she makes rugs anymore. Yes, Nathan Turner’s store in LA has some left. Call there.

ON THE HUNT: THE PERFECTLY LAYERED RUG

6323069943_a67cee6fea

Thanks to my huge bank of bedroom inspirations there is one element I can confidently say will be happening in my own space: a double layer of rugs. The only part that I’ve yet to determine, is what combination!I’m guessing the smaller rug will be one of three options – sheepskin, cowhide or a small [...]

I really love this look! It is something I don’t normally think of, but looks sophisticated and is extra comfy…especially to have a 2nd rug on sisal!

I’m considering a Moroccan on sisal for my living room so my first thought would be to go with 4 on 2.

That being said, 4 on 6 would be really lovely as well!

I used to have a sheepskin rug in my room (while a legit Persian rug would be ideal, post-college budget prevails!) because I wanted to add texture, plus it’s so cozy! BUT, majorly bummed at how quickly it became dirty and matted (even though I’d regularly clean it/shake it out), so it’s been relegated to the closet for shame of anyone seeing the matted mess. I wound up buying a cowhide and am much happier! I was surprised to find it’s actually soft on bare feet and it makes my tiny SF bedroom look much bigger, super groovy! (I think its free form shape means doesn’t allow you to immediately asses the scale of the room). Hope this is of help. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your progress!

PUNCHY + PAINTERLY

I love the visual texture of painterly patterns on textiles… they seem even more appropriate for the summer. Like what your clothes should do if you decided to spontaneously run through the sprinkler to beat this heat… *resources: dress by erdem, blouse rachel rose, flamestich pillow furbish, rug at marc phillips, clutch by goodmarvin

    That dress is absolutely fabulous!
I can see myself wearing that on a warm evening with a pretty cocktail in hand, I am thinking something like The Salted Tarragon Greyhound that was posted a while back!
