INSIDE THE HOME OF BRIAN PAQUETTE

I’ve spoken fondly of my friend and interior designer, Brian Paquette, quite a few times on my blog, but today I’m excited to share with you a space that’s a bit more personal to him… his own home. On a beautiful Seattle day, the space feels light, welcoming and calm. On the greyest of days, it envelops […]

PROUD IN THE PNW

julie harmsen hens&chicks rue mag

Up in my little corner of the states, we Pacific Northwesters tend to get lost in many ways. In sports. In the design scene. In fashion. But, slowly, that’s been changing. I’ve seen my city (Seattle) start to evolve in the past couple of years. From a city I felt stuck in to a city […]

    i live in the midwest but absolutely LOVE the PNW. my uncle lives in portland and i spent many happy summers as a girl driving around washington and oregon in his VW van listening to weezer and camping {two of my favorite places i remember were crater lake and the columbia river gorge}. such a gorgeous area of our country!

    I feel exactly the same way! I’ve been here three years and while I’m not 100% I’ll be here forever, there’s progressively less ‘faking it’ and much more ‘making it’ when I tell people about how great it is where I live.

    Hooray for the PNW coming into its own :)

    Hi Cassandra

    Thank you for this entry! I have been following your blog this past year, and it always inspires me with your great taste in design, fashion, and more. I left my lovely Seattle right after college to live in NYC and work in fashion, and have just decided to move back with my fiance this summer after 8 years out East. It’s been a bit scary and emotional to wrap my head around coming home, but this piece you wrote reminded me of all the reasons to live in such a beautiful place. I can’t wait to re-discover this place, and I so appreciate your words about the creative world that exists back home. Thank you for this!!

AIN’T NO PARTY LIKE A DALLAS PARTY…

gap styldby campaign + rue + dallas

Ya’ll may remember last week that I took a little trip to Dallas for the Gap + Rue styld.by party. Well, we had ourselves a blast, and I wanted to share some pics because it was that much fun. The employees at the store were insanely helpful and jazzed to have us all there, Tiger […]

RUE OUTTAKES :: ABSOLUTE ALDRIDGE

JudyAldridge_Rue-001

I’ve always been fascinated by the bold style of Judy Aldridge – the woman behind the blog Atlantis Home and the fashionable mother behind Jane at Sea of Shoes. To me, she finds that perfect mix of glamorous, cheeky, daring and refined. One might say, she’s a perfect muse for the coco+kelley girl, which is why […]

    Huge fan of this issue (and not just because I’m originally from Texas!). I was thrilled you guys featured Jane’s new space. She’s a young lady with such eclectic, yet classy taste. Loved it!
