One question I get asked a lot as an interior designer and blogger is, “How do I mix my family heirlooms in with my modern/classic decor?” The answer??Despite the many many rooms I have in my inspiration files exhibiting eclectic styles mixed and matched, it seems to be a challenge that in real life people [...]

Yes, I know. Everyone in blogland will be posting their favorite photos this week from the latest issue of Lonny which arrived this weekend on a particularly quiet Saturday evening for me. This meant that (amazingly enough) I had the time to really enjoy it as well as peruse the updated site which now includes [...]

    I posted about the quirky things in this issue including the parrot cushion. I especially loved the ostrich wallpaper and the goat in the library! Too cool.

    My favourite piece is the drawer chest below the television in the last picture. It looks like enlarged herringbone using mirror plates for the stripes. Lovely!

    It's so difficult to find a favorite piece from this mag. They choose everything so well that I tend to love most of it =)

    Have a nice week

    The Houston spread did it for me the most, I am from Houston and have NEVER been in a house so fresh and funk, houses are beautiful around those parts but mostly in a staid southern way. The spreads in this issue were all…well…rawr.

    Love the new design site. And I couldn't agree more with the quote. Your home should make you feel great every time you step through the front door.

    Since you're line of work involves dealing with hundreds of photos, on a daily basis, I wander if you would need a solution to eliminate the repetitive and mundane tasks (like watermarking, resizing, converting, and so on)? I humbly suggest our own solution, BatchPhoto ( http://www.batchphoto.com ). If interested please contact us from our site.

L is For…

Lonny! Oh, and it’s also for LOVE. Because there has been a barren little vacancy in all our designer hearts since the folding of Domino, and it has just been FILLED! I was so excited to flip through the pages of this new online magazine brought to us by the talented co-founders, Michele Adams and [...]

    I flipped through yesterday and loved it. My only problem with it is that I found it difficult to read in the flipbook format. Loved Eddie Ross's home and kind of want to move in!

    I couldn't wait! I flipped through it once at work and once at home yesterday. I definitely spotted the booze cart trend too. Need one for easy access entertaining!

    This is great! I visited their site last night and there is definitely some fun inspiration. I like printed copies, too, but I might start a folder of print-outs of things that inspire me :)

    Have a lovely weekend, Cass {xo}

    I second all your praises (I'm itching to try that beaded dress turned pillow, and definitely noticed the many cute bar carts!).

    And I second the commenters who said it was minorly difficult to read online. Either too small or I had to scroll around the page. Sometimes the text was a little pixelated too. I'm sure in future issues they'll figure a way to correct these issues, so I'm just relieved to have this new awesome source of inspiration!

    Yes, Lonny is fabulous! Helps fill the Domino gap and so incredible to finally see the house of Eddie and Jaithan – Yeah!
    Can't help it but I do miss lying in bed flipping through a mag, but the design is top notch along with the ideas – Kudos to the team at Lonny! Can't wait to see more!

    I think the Lonny team did an exceptional job designing this layout, and as much as I miss truly flipping pages, I LOVE that I can click on nearly any item in the photos! Well done!
