ROOM OF THE WEEK 3.1

6944226801_2dbaceabde_o

While I try and reserve the Room of the Week for spaces that haven’t been seen much before, I couldn’t help but give this one a much deserved spot in the ROTW hall of fame… It’s insanely good, right? The shade of leather on those chairs kills me, as do the lighting and the walls. [...]

This room is right up my alley… love it! My only complaint is the wallpaper (not bad, but not my first choice either!).

Those are seriously the chairs I’m looking for. Want. Need. (And also one of everything else while we’re at it).

There is nothing I don’t love about the room! Funny thing is if I saw that wall paper alone I would think it was awful but in the room it looks gorgeous.

Those chairs are AWESOME! They work so well with the table and I love how the tan leather the goes with the blue in the rug!

RUE EXTRAS: A GEORGETOWN GEM

6209859352_8403c257d0_o

One of my favorite hidden neighborhoods in Seattle is Georgetown. And one of my very favorite people (who happens to reside in this neighborhood) is interior designer Leah Steen, owner of Revival Home & Garden. So, needless to say this feature was one of my favorites to work on for the Anniversary Issue of Rue [...]

ROOM OF THE WEEK: 9.22

6172603158_d71cae202f

This week’s room is brave. Much more brave than I’ll ever be. It’s also quite on trend with its mix of print and pattern and glamour into a boho luxe little living room… If someone handed me all these elements and told me to make a room out of them, I probably could. If someone [...]

I love that jolt of coral in the lamp base, and the silvery lavender ottoman with the brass tables, but the green chair is throwing me off…perhaps if it erred a bit more on the side of kelly green rather than peridot? It just seems sort of washed out. Other than that its a lovely space! The light is really good.

I love this room. That coffee table/ottoman is awesome and while I wouldn’t think all those prints would mesh – they really work out here because of thoughtful planning. So cool!

    Hi Cassandra,

Wow, another great post! I am wondering if you could recommend an online marketplace where I could find graphic and ethnic pillows like the ones shown in the fourth picture from the top. Your help is so appreciated!

ROOM OF THE WEEK 9.15

6149868791_5db0b62420

As I’ve been hunting for inspiration for my own living room, I’ve realized that there’s really no other way to describe my style than perfect eclectic… Not boho eclectic. Not crazy cat-lady eclectic. It’s an OCD person’s version of eclectic. And this is pretty close to it. It works for me because while there is [...]

personally, i love this. it reminds me A LOT of my current living room after my boyfriend and i have merged tastes and belongings. leather couch (him). striped rug (me). we even have the pop of bright blue in a coffee table i painted. the mix of everything not only gives the appearance of having been collected over time, but it’s also so timeless–as long as you’re surrounded by things you love (even if they don’t ‘go together’), it will always be in style. great inspiration!!

I like that room. It looks very… habitable, maby because of many colors, not the sterile type :) Though, I would rather like a sofa and a pair of armchairs, but not two sofas. But the deckchair is ok

The layout is open and inviting. The patterns, textures and all the color pull your eye towards every direction, with not one specific focal point. Which make it engaging and captivating, makes it fun to look at. So many words to describe, beautiful room.

I have a long huge LR and the creation of seating areas has really made all the difference in not aonly the way the room functions and flows but how it FEELS. It cannot help but to be inviting and a destination. I have a chaise lounge under a sunny window in one seating area and it is literally may favorite place to be in the world. Good luck–share pics when you do it!!

This is perfectly my style! I loooooove it! But I do have to agree on that little white space between the mantle and the mirror. But otherwise the mix of textures and patters makes me not want to look away!

I think this executes the idea of mixing, perfectly. And for those who are a bit more “OCD” as you put it, this could just be the room to convince them that mixing doesn’t have to be messy. I also think that keeping the walls mostly bare keeps the overall look clean and simplified. The circular mirror is the perfect touch, but also the circular shape helps to keep it soft and center you. Beautiful room. . .thank you for sharing!. . . and I want those pillows!
