wood and white breakfast nook

This weekend our design planning for the new house began to take shape. (In case you’re catching up on the news, I moved into my boyfriend’s home just a few weeks ago!) Of all the rooms in the house, I can already tell you that my favorite is going to be what I’m calling the breakfast […]

Love all the choices but that marble topped wood table paired with a ghost chair is such a fun mix…and practical too with that top!

ARTISANAL IS THE NEW BLACK

pacific wonderland chairs via OKL

In the beginning of 2013, I was asked many times what I thought would be the ‘trend’ in furnishings and decor for the year. Amongst a few other responses, my number one word was ‘artisanal’. All of us are wanting pieces that feel special. Small batch, hand crafted, and local being many of the concepts […]

Cassandra, I love pieces that have a story behind them or that are so unique they captures your eye immediately!

ROUNDUP: GRAB A CHAIR!

6431420301_2ac78862c3_o

It’s the time of year when our full and happy homes may find themselves in need of some extra seating for all those out of town guests or party goers! And really, there’s nothing worse than pulling out some rickety old fold-up chair that feels like it may collapse at any time. So how about […]

I love the Lina leather chair – wouldn’t mind adding a couple of those to my holiday season.
    Thanks for the ideas.

i’m a sucker for a chiavari chair in gold, but i love the color options at society social for some punch… so hard to decide, right? and the leather looks delicious…

I have ballroom chairs in silver. I love them, but mine don’t fold! I love the fabric on that terai chair!

GET HAPPY!

I thought we’d start the week off with something fabulously cheerful… These chairs! I mean, really… wouldn’t they put on a smile on your face every morning? I’m not one to usually insert pink into my interiors, but these Casala classics are just too good! They’re making me want to snatch up this pair for […]

I don’t think I’ve seen anything exactly like them before… they’re fab! I love that tree too. I have a real ‘thing’ for trees, so that would be something I’d really like in my own home.

I love the last piece! It reminds me of a Zinnia tree from my toddler’s alphabet cards ‘Z is for Zinnia’. :-) Made me smile, so well done!

Hope your day is happy too!

I am not really aping person. But over the past year I have been strategically placing pink throughout my home…. Bathroom ceiling, edge of my kitchen cabinet doors, even on the door edge to my bedroom.
I would love to place these little prettiest in my home :)

BETTER THAN THONET?

5687579484_22436a3193

I’ve been on the hunt for some casual dining chairs for a client of mine, and I keep returning to the classic Thonet bentwood style. I love them all lacquered up and shiny, and their shape is perfection… unless of course you’re worried about little squirmy kiddos slipping through the open design. Which, in fact, […]

I love these chairs. There such a classic design. I would love 4 around a table in hunter green or a hot pink single one is stunning, in such a simple way.

I had the exact same reaction. I have a fantasy of a home full of Thonet-style chairs, but I thought the Anthro one looked a little more utilitarian, in a good way. Esp. love the red-orange!

And Countess – yes, I’ve always loved those as well! They’re just not *quite* right for this project!
