Abbot Kinney Holiday Block Party!

If you’re in the LA area, and you love Abbot Kinney shopping as much as I do, then don’t miss out on tonight’s little Holiday event. Shops will be open late (6pm – 10pm), serving up sales and goodies (wine! hors d’oeuvres!), Santa will be ho ho ho-ing, and I will be spending lots of money, I’m sure ;)

Gotta love Christmas in LA! See you there!!

Room of the Week 12.7

I’m loving this room from Amy Lau. In fact, I have a bit of an infatuation with rooms like this – there’s something about matching little twin beds that appeals to my senses – even though this set up is so unpractical. Who has an extra 5th bedroom to decorate? I love the yellow and green scheme and the contrast of a geometric rug with sweet floral wallpaper.

Throw Them Some Love

I don’t care where you live or celebrate the holidays, a good cozy throw is always appreciated. Sun or snow, these gifts are sure to please.

Add a splash of color to their decor with these blankets from Jonathan Adler and Urban Outfitters.

Cozy down with two of the softest blankets out there – a super plush softie from Pottery Barn and dreamy mohair in festive colors from Graham & Green.

Not exactly freezing temperatures for you this December? Try these lightweight lovelies from Jayson H&G in a very lightweight linen, or an organic knit from West Elm.

Add a bit of pattern with this year’s most popular ikat/zig zag designs. These are two of my favorites – the first from Crate and Barrel, the second unmistakably Missoni.

Of course if you’re the most amazingly wonderful wealthy fantastic person in the world, you’d just send me one of these this Christmas…

The coveted Hermes blanket that has been blogged about all year long… ;)

I have a blanket almost identical to the Pottery Barn one – its from Target and is the Simply Shabby Chic brand. Its soooooo soft and cozy and makes it nearly impossible to get out of bed in the morning. I was actually going to blog about it :) I heart he Hermes too :)

Personalize Your Holiday Cheer

The gift of alcohol always seems to be a popular one for the holidays (hmmmmm….), but why not go one step further and make it a little more personal with one of these gifts from Williams-Sonoma?

Show up to a party, bring a great bottle of wine, and add this special touch…

Tie a monogrammed wine stopper around the neck of your bottle along with a little card expressing your thanks, and voila! A perfectly thoughtful gift. The best part? The wine stopper is only $15 with monogram, $10 without.

Want to step it up a little? Let’s move on to some bubbly…

Because one should NEVER let good champagne go to waste, this black nickel champagne stopper is sleek at effective! And yes, you can get this one monogrammed too…

A fancy bottle of champagne along with this stopper is a perfect gift for friends (especially friends who love their champagne!).

TIP OF THE DAY!

Monogramming anything makes it instantly more personal ~ especially for newlywed couples! If you’re having a hard time finding a gift, start searching for pieces that have monograms, like paperweights or stationery from iomoi or coasters from Horchow.

Let The Giving Begin…

So many gifts to give… so little time. ‘Tis the season to start perfecting the art of gift giving!

There are those friends who you know will get you something, and then those are those friends who you really weren’t expecting something from, but – surprise! – they were feeling generous this year and now you’re caught empty handed. Not to mention being prepared for co-workers, finding the perfect presents for family and the significant other, oh and hostess gift for all those holiday parties! Yes, it’s enough to make you insane… but never fear my friends. I happen to be pretty good at this gift-giving thing, so from now until December 24th, anything worth giving (in my humble opinion) will get posted on this blog. And, if all else fails, remember this – all it takes is a little personal touch to make a gift special…

Good luck, and I hope these ideas will inspire you in your shopping endeavors!

I Think I’ll Go to Boston…

Hi friends! No more posts for the week as I’m getting ready for a very long weekend, spending some time with the boyfriend on the east coast, and I can’t wait! Nothing to put me in the Christmas spirit like bundling up for New England weather. Anything particularly wonderful I should be seeing? Let me know! I leave bright and early tomorrow morning for Connecticut, then we’ll spend the weekend in Boston.

You can expect me back on Tuesday! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Luv & Ciao!

Cassandra

Glittery Trimmings!

Ok, apparently this has turned into packaging week. I just stopped by the Creature Comforts blog and saw these cute little glittery toppers and I am officially in love!

Gorgeous on a gift, I think they could also add just a little holiday sparkle to things around the house – like how they tied it around the sweet little birdie below…

There are a limited number available, so go check out the shop right now!
