This pendant necklace from Sophie Gardner.
I love how larger pendants lay against tan skin in the summer… always subtle but totally sexy – and the shape of this one makes it extra unique!

There’s something so inviting about a worn in leather chair…
Not a fan of the usual club chair look, I prefer a simplified lounger like this one from designer Piero Lissoni, available at Aram. I can just imagine how gorgeous this piece will look 50 years from now when the wood and the leather are all worn in….
I also like this style from Soane… although the avacado green with the pale cream base is a bit retro for my taste. Still, it looks quite comfy, and a nice size for an accent chair in my teeny apartment.
Another classic favorite of mine from Ralph Lauren Home. Talk about ‘glamping’ – this luxurious take on the generic camping chair is so fab.
For serious mid-century style, you could always go with the Arne Jacobson egg chair in the 50th Anniversary edition from Suite NY. I especially love the bronze base!
I love, LOVE, LOVE this chair from Williams-Sonoma Home. It’s a gorgeous version of these leather director’s chairs that I’ve been lusting over…
Unfortunately the WS version is suede, not leather… which seems like a poor choice as a dining chair! So, I’m curious if any of you have a favorite comfy chair that reigns over a corner of your living room, or that you’ve been lusting over – leather or not! Please share!!

omg, i can’t believe how beautiful that first chair is…
I stg that we had a chair that looked almost identical to the first chair in my mom’s house growing up that I’d completely forgotten about…I’ve got to find out what happend to that!
the eames lounger I inherited from my grandmother is my favorite chair of all time. and the leather has been getting softer and more worn in for over 40 yrs now!
I do love that egg chair! ANd I agree about the WS chair! Great classic, but suede?
ooo, I would love to have that egg chair…it’s one of those that you can hide behind a desk with and then slowly swivel around…

heather!! i’m jealous of your chair and so glad you stopped by my blog! thanks for the comment
and yes, my favorite is the first one too joanna. the egg chair isn’t usually something i gravitate to, but in this design i kinda dig it…
An old club chair that I bought for a couple’a hundred Euros on the way from the Loire to PAris. Some of the leather is torn but to me, that just adds to its charm. LOVE IT.
I love love love each chair in this post. There’s not a bad one in the bunch. My favorite is the lounge chair, although kinda low I know it is quite comfortable. The Soane chair is quite the looker also, and I don’t mind the color of the leather, but I’d stain the base a darker color.
So, I’m still on the hunt for chairs for my home… a pair for the dining room, one for my desk, and (if I had my way) a comfy accent chair in the living room. Which means that you shouldn’t be surprised if you see a lot of posts on chairs in the next week or so… starting with this one.
In case you somehow missed this promotion, for the entire month of February Modern Dose is offering a double dose of their version of the Panton Chair. Stackable, modern, flowing and durable, you can’t go wrong with keeping these chairs around for extra seating indoors or out… and you can’t afford to NOT buy one because right now they’re buy one get one free!! Thank you Domino Deals! Now the only hard part is picking a color…

i recently found your blog and i love it! this chair made me think of a bookshelf i saw in readymade magazine that had a set of mini panton chairs on it. it’s great full-size, but i love the tiny ones too.
thanks for the comment caitlin! i’ve seen those miniatures of this chair and they are ADORABLE!
What an amazing deal! It’s at times like this that I wish I didn’t live in Marrakech. Sigh.

Well, I’ve been avoiding it all week… but Valentine’s Day is upon us, so let’s spread a little love! For those of you IN love, good for you. For the rest of us who are still searching for our prince charming … might I suggest this fabulous calling card from Mr. Boddington?
If that doesn’t get the point across, I’m not quite sure what will
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all, from me and my favorite little bobble head (yes, i own her and her partner … love them!)

It’s nearly impossible to narrow an entire weeks worth of fashions into a list of favorites… but here they are…
My favorite ‘casual’ looks…
My favorite colors…
And if I had to pick a long and a short dress out of all of them…
… and that’s all folks! Hope you found a little inspiration in these images this week!

we share the same favorite color. i can’t seem to get enough. brilliant picks!
There were a few collections that I particularly enjoyed for the Fall RTW collections that I haven’t shared yet, so here they are!
From the J. Mendel collection ~ I fell head over heels for these breezy dresses with delicate details, but my favorite part had to be the adorable little ‘ear muffs’. I seriously love them.
Of course, the queen of fabulous dresses is always Monique Lhuillier. Her dresses are imaginative yet classic, and alway alway gorgeous. This year she mixed it up with sequins and feathers in olive green – a popular color this fall.
I especially loved the white dress with the coppery gold bodice. Striking!
Loved the collection from Vera Wang, but these three were my favorites – especially the first dress.
Perhaps the most breathtaking dresses, these designs from Marchesa are serious red carpet material… if you could even get down the red carpet in that black one!
The Philosophy collection was also one that stood out to me. This is one time that I really liked the combination of a delicate top with a ‘heavy’ bottom – the striped stockings and boots or tweed pants.
This very small collection from Rachel Roy was beautifully done – and the models were perfect. A very different set from most of the fall pieces, this one featured some beautiful colors, touches of ethnic prints, feathery accessories, and very classic cuts.
I love the direction that Ralph Lauren went with for fall – lots of plaids! And the pops of color against the black were so classic. Such great style.
Last, but definitely not least, the collection from Rodarte was the one that kept me wanting more! Absolutely the most creative and inspirational pieces that I saw, their blend of colors and textures were amazing, and you could tell that every detail – from makeup to hair to the pieces themselves – was so well thought out. Amazing.

life is in the details. style accordingly.

i’m loving that bronze version – the detailing on the edges really gets me.
very pretty!
i know – the shape is just so unique! and so is bronze. i’m considering a purchase…
These are beautiful!
