What better way to dress down such a classic pant than the text-laden knits we’re seeing everywhere? And since they probably have a few more months of awesomeness left in them, I’ll be purchasing one or two (likely from a forever21 vs barneys), but investing in some fabulously fitted pants that will go much farther in my wardrobe

Such a fun and easy combo, right? You can be sure I’ll be on the hunt for both while shopping this weekend! Especially loving metallics and boucle for the bottoms – a white pant might be pushing it for me, but we’ll see what happens!

I’m sure you’ve seen at least one or two of these images before (maybe even here). I know I had. But before I stumbled upon a site that had the entire home featured, I never realized that all of these amazing spaces were indeed one house. Which, quite honestly, blew my mind.

The details begin right in the entryway, and go on throughout the home – like the whimsy of this stunning hardware. This space sets the tone for the rest of the house perfectly, actually – the combination of antique lighting, a modern table, and a luxe touch of brass says it all.

These striped sofas have captivated me before with their exposed backs (not to mention the sweet side tables), but what you don’t realize in this photo…

Are the details like the crystals hanging within the chandelier. The touches of green and smokey brown add something special to the piece, and compliment the room so nicely! I think I need to start collecting chandelier baubles and putting old ones back together with mixed colors.

I’m sure you all know this image – it’s practically iconic at this point – but can I just point out the two little chairs for a second? Upholstered in the same fabric but differently – one quilted and one tufted – they make for a nice subtle detail. And then there’s the kitchen…

I’d die for such a space! The skylight and french doors combined must bring in so much natural light year-round. Not to mention all the gorgeous marble and brass detail here. I like the choice of industrial lighting in this area as well.

Let’s get back to some more detail, shall we?

Quite possibly my favorite part of this home – a high gloss, hot pink wet bar tucked behind a folding door. Hello, amazing! But what’s even better is how this color is placed in a few areas throughout the home. Remember the artwork above the fireplace? There’s that. And then there’s this…

A hot pink skylight in the shower? Why not? And to top it all off, what might be my most favorite wallpaper in the world belongs in one of the other baths…

It’s so rare for me to appreciate an entire home this way, I couldn’t  help but share the entire thing with you. And now, of course, to get the look for your own home…

It’s funny how in the summer, I love my home and closet a bit more absent of color. In spring, I’m still ushering in brights, as if willing the sunshine to come, but when it finally does, I’m ready for metallics, neutrals and loads of white.

I’ve been dreaming of finding a bust of my own to do this to, with seashells collected from my travels, and then I discovered this gorgeous piece - not quite the same as my lady, but quite close enough and with such beautiful detail! In fact, you could still take it upon yourself to add your own seashells to her if you felt so inclined. I think I’ve found myself a new little project…

I’m soooooo in love with these glowing pieces set in (my favorite) brass. The teardrop is a beauty, but I think the bottom right ‘halo’ sconce might be my favorite. Which would you choose and where would you put it? I’d love a teardrop in my hallway…

But, what I’m most excited about with the upcoming weddings is a return to glamour and high style…

I don’t know about you, but I’m quite sick of mason jars and crafty place settings. (And apologies if that’s your thing.) I know not everyone can make their wedding exactly what they want to be while sticking to a budget, but lately I’ve been thinking that a few classic elements and a simple palette can go a long long way.

Perhaps it’s the influence of the Gatsby-craze or my own personal longing for something new and fresh in the wedding world, but I’ve been seeing the pendulum swinging back to glamour and I’m very happy about it. The world could do with more oyster bars and petit fours…

This weekend, the bridesmaids will be sparkling in beaded dresses, and I can’t wait to enjoy every little moment.

So, I’m bidding you adieu for the weekend as I head out to wine country for the fabulous celebration…!

I’m such a fan of the strong lip – but I like it even more with a really bare face, like these ladies are rockin it. The practically naked eyes and cheek make for an even higher contrast that I love. Personally, I’m a coral girl, but that pink is super fun too. Notice too that makeup has become more matte – from face to lips. For just a little more pop on the eyes, do a touch of white or gold on the inset of the eye like the first image.

Au naturale for the summer is always a good look (and always in style) - but looks can be deceiving. Despite the bare look here, all three are definitely enhancing the natural with bronze, blush and shimmer. The eyes are the real focus here with special attention to simple liner, fluttering lashes (another big spring trend), and shimmery shadow. The lip stays barely glossed, and this would be a good time to play up a bold brow too.

If plain jane just isn’t your style, and a bold lip a bit too much, why not try your hand at a little pop of liner? The accent on the lower lid is a current trend, but all three of these show how you can work this look upper, lower, or a bit more full. Just like the lip, though, we see the rest of the face kept very simple. Can you tell I’m a low maintenance makeup kind of girl? If I have to remember to touch up my lips and  my eyes, forget about it.

But for those of you who are beauty gurus…

Here’s how you do it all! And well, might I add. You would have thought all these elements together would look a bit like overkill, but not so. Of course, for me this is far from an everyday look, but maybe I’ll get brave this summer and try it out one evening.

The delicately hanging plants spilling into the small light-filled courtyard is so magical – it reminds me of an enchanted forest, so I created a recipe for an enchanted evening around it! Imaging setting this table in the forest – as if it were growing out of the ground itself. With plenty of twinkling candlelight, it would be a magical scene. I think I may have to attempt something similar on a late summer evening…

Just a simple little bench seat to cozy into on a Sunday morning while someone’s making me pancakes… Can we call it the breakfast bench?

I like how the dining tables in both spaces could be used for prep areas, too. Since it seems that everyone always loves to congregate in a kitchen during parties, an option like this – where you have a table and an extra bench to seat guests on – makes so much sense.

Not to mention it’s perfectly useful for those of us without huge kitchens who can’t even squeeze in an extra dining area. You know how there was this whole fad where people put in mini-desks into their kitchen? I’d much rather see one of these there instead – wouldn’t you?
