GOING GRAY :: METHOD’S BEACH TO BOTTLE INITIATIVE

method ocean plastic bottles

When I first started working with Method on this series of posts that we’ve had all year long, I was incredibly impressed with the company on a variety of levels, but one of the things that stood out to me the most was one simple philosophy: If you level the playing field and discount all [...]

I am so glad you shared this post and video on your blog. I think this is such a cool initiative from method and Whole Foods. I love to see small changes that can make a big impact and I think this is exactly that. I appreciate you sharing this with all of us!

METHOD CREATES MAGIC

method-magic-dryer-sheet-spray

There are certain things in life I know I will never completely grasp. They usually involve things like physics and engineering and molecular structures. Like, I still really think it’s magical that planes can get off the ground. I mean, those things are HUGE. And I get how it works (I’m not having Mitt Romney [...]

WHERE TO START?

beautiful empty house

Is there anything more exciting (and intimidating!?) than a big, gorgeous empty room?  Of course, once you start trying to figure out where everything is going… well, let the headache begin. My lease is up next month and while I’m certainly not going to move anytime soon, it’s also opening my mind to some possibilities [...]

IT’S A DISH DATE (WITH METHOD!)

dirty-dishes copy

So… I’ve been dating someone (don’t get too excited – this is not a post on my love life), and he and I have quite a few things in common (as one would hope when dating). One of them being we hate doing dishes. But we love cooking, and we hate messes,  and neither of us [...]

COLOR METHOD

method hand soap kitchen

If you’re as crazy about color coordinating as I am, then you’re likely the type of guy or gal who purchases every little product to fit perfectly into a room… right down to your hand soap. I remember when Method first started appearing on the shelves, I purchased my first bottle based completely on the [...]

JUST BRILLIANT

brilliant+earth+diamonds1

Ok, ladies. Time to fess up. At what age did you start planning your wedding? Tearing pages out of Martha Stewart and Bride’s? Designing your dress? I can honestly say it was sometime in high school for me. I’ve always been one of those girls who knew just how her big day would look. But, [...]

I’m one of those girls that has actually never “planned my wedding,” but I do know I would looove an antique emerald cut engagement ring. That’s all I know and really care about! Ha!

I too have been a wedding junkie from a young age. I had an actual binder with tear sheets from Martha Stewart Weddings magazine from the time I was maybe 16. I got married almost a year ago and when we got engaged, I pulled that bad boy out and it was embarrassing and fun to look through! The real wedding was pretty different from the one my 16 year old self had in mind.
I die for these diamonds- well, all diamonds! Love!

The first option, sans the yellow diamond, is almost an exact replica of my engagement ring. She’s a beaut for sure!

Goodness, I started planning in high school for sure! It all changed over time though, the kind of dress, ring, flowers… to this day there isn’t much about my actual day. :)

i was never 1 to think about my wedding – i was always picked as “next to marry” but i just never took the plunge – i sorta’ like being forever taken’ but not being traditional and walking down the isle – but 1 day maybe i’ll say YES – he tries but i’m just not ready – but i always say “if 5 cts are in the picture then i’ll say YES” – figure that’ll buy me some time :o ) — i LOVE ur new modern choice – bigger is better of course but i do admit small and charming still has it’s way with me when i see friends rings

These are all gorgeous rings. I love the antique look. So classic. I needed so much time to plan the wedding that we had almost a 2 year engagement-lol.

    Glad I found your blog:)

I don’t know that it was planning per se but years ago, I tore out photographs of Amber Valetta’s first wedding to Herve Le Bihan that were in People magazine. Those were the first (of a million!) fashion images that I have torn out of magazines since then. My idea of what I wanted for my own wedding changed constantly until I got married 4 years ago.

I love the Brilliant Earth rings, by the way – particularly like the bands that are set in yellow gold!

My husband bought my ring from brilliant earth, they are awesome! It was really important to us to to know that our symbol of love is conflict free, and we were so happy with our choice.

I agree that one’s taste in jewelry develops with age. It took me over 6 months to put together a design or agree to one for my asscher cut diamond. One piece of advice I received for selecting a ring is to focus on the diamond, then add embellishments years down the road. I decided to focus on a theme (art deco design) in order to guide my design process. I was enamored with a Neil Lane Art Deco piece, and never took my eyes off that image.
