Sassy in Wash, DC Right now since we’ve been dealing with temps reaching 100+, about all the lounging I can manage on our south facing screened porch is in the morning with the Washington Post and a pitcher of home-brewed ice-coffee, (preferably Counter Culture) I would recommend any of Barbara Kingsolver’s books– I’ve just started the The Lacuna, but have read The Poisonwood Bible and Vegetable, Animal, Miracle.

Oh, I feel for you. I gave up a house on a 1 1/2 acres for a condo. I have a deck and that becomes our most used “room” in the summer. It overlooks a little retention pond with a fountain. How I love the sound of the hokey fountain.
