MISS MATCH :: LIONETTE

lionette-mix-n-match-earrings

Last September at fashion week, I was dashing to a show when one of the backs fell out of my earring, and I was left to debate taking them both out (let’s be honest though, they made the outfit) or wearing just one. In the end, I literally fashioned an earring back out of a […]

BEAUTIFUL TO THE BONE

More than a year ago, I stumbled upon the beautiful jewelry created by Leah Singh in a store in Boston. Of course, I completely forgot to write down the name of the designer, and that was that. Until a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon her work again by accident – a very happy […]

SOUND THE TRUMPETS!

I, myself, have always been a fan of costume jewelry, and cherish the collection of antique and vintage pieces left behind by my grandmothers. More than any others, these unique rings, brooches and necklaces are the ones I get complimented on, and the older I get the more I recognize the inherent value in having […]

    I SO AGREE with you…I find it FUN to “layer” jewelry (and will CONTINUE to do this even if it isn’t the “in” thing.) Next…check out that website… franki

NYFW :: WHIT + LULU FROST

WHIT ss14 _ 1

Fashion Week kicked off for me on Wednesday with a couple of presentations. I’ll be honest – I kind of prefer them to the shows. You get to see the pieces up close, mingle with the designer and friends, and if you’re lucky, there are drinks involved. They’re WAY more fun than a packed theater […]

OBSESSED :: LULU FROST 100 YEAR COLLECTION

Screen Shot 2013-08-19 at 9.12.28 AM

Nothing influences fashion more than history. We return time and time again to the past for inspiration in current collections – tweaking ideas to make them fresh and modern. But Lulu Frost‘s latest designs take this one step further by creating pieces from vintage jewelry dating back as far as the 1860′s, and turning them […]

    These pieces are gorgeous! I bet they sell out fast. I have many similar pieces on my site, I kind of recognize some of the elements she used. Looks like some vintage shoe clips and brooches and parts of necklaces, very clever and beautiful.
