    I was visiting my parents in Minnesota over the holidays and my mom and I had lunch at the American Swedish Institute. They had a lovely beet bloody mary on their menu. It was served with Aquavit and not only was it delicious, as the server said, “it’s a beautiful drink.”

    I added the vanilla afterwards, I guess because I’ve heard somewhere that heat can burn off some of the flavor of vanilla (?) and it was AMAZING! Thank you for the wonderful recipe!
