IN THE KITCHEN :: MOD MEETS FARMHOUSE

pop color fruit art in the kitchen via martha stewartjpg

Lately, I’ve been drawn to the idea of bold color in the kitchen – specifically in primary tones of red, blue and yellow. But I’m not talking cabinets or wall paint – I’m talking vintage modern accessories mixed with farmhouse style. Think mod pop art, enamelware canisters, schoolhouse clocks and powder-coated industrial stools… In a super warm […]

I definately agree with you that this is a great idea, by using accessories for that pop of colour!
For me also full on colour for units and walls is too much!!

I love the retro feel of your chioces. Updating with accessories means that if you get bored or decide to move on with a different look then it is much easier to update.

PERFECT PALETTES :: RETRO REVIVAL

retro-yellow-pink-burnt-orange-palette

Whenever I’m in an inspiration funk for something to write about on the blog – usually first thing on a Monday morning – I dive into my color files to find something that’s speaking to me. Today? It was this… I’ve really been into these retro-inspired color palettes lately. That vintage brown. A little mustard yellow. […]

I love this palette! it’s almost the one I have set up for my living room so yay. I wrote a post about color palettes last week and I had so much fun looking for the right ones, super inspiring.

Perfect timing! Though I gravitate to a palette of white and neutrals with texture and maybe some deep emerald green thrown in, I’m trying to be a little bolder in the new place I’m sharing with my boyfriend. Some new-to-us mid century chairs with bright blue upholstery are the jumping off point for this brave new world of colour and this is the kind of fun clashy-contrast that I want to pair it with.

SHOP THE PALETTE :: RUSTED REDS + NUDE

rusted-reds-and-nude-palette-inspiration-coco-kelley

Red is all I can think about adding to my wardrobe these days. Rusty reds, to be exact. If you hadn’t noticed, burnt orange was making a comeback on the runways lately, so I’m guessing if you invest in this color now, you’ll be able to wear it well into spring… But for winter? Paired […]

INTERIORS TO INSPIRE :: BOLD + BEAUTIFUL IN THE BEDROOM

I have always been drawn to this bedroom belonging to Samantha Knapp. The layers (between pattern, texture and even furniture) feel light and welcoming in true bohemian style, but the layers themselves are – for the  most part – quite classic…. On the bed, tartan meets florals and fur. Mod dressers hang with Venetian mirrors and antique […]

What a bold space. Love all the saturated colors and mixtures of patterns. Its great to see the antiques in there as well. Everything in this space definitely feel like it is loved. Thanks for sharing.

I’m not sure i’m brave enough, or clever enough to get it spot on in my home. My bedroom is also quite small, so too much going on may not work. You’re right that its such a fine balance. The bright blue velvet headboard really drawers me in to this room, its such a bright block of colour and a great focal point. Fabulous headboards can be a great place to start in a room and then you can design around it. The reds and patterned curtains/cushions break up the block, softening the look, adding layers and style.

WEDDING PALETTES IN RED + NUDE

There’s been a trend forming on my wedding pinterest board lately, and it’s all about the combination of red + nude… We’ve seen the soft pink and nude tones in the wedding world for the past few years, and just when I thought it might be getting a bit boring, the addition of this bright, […]

They are all amazing! I just love that cake. For me, the contrast of the deep burgundy adds so much sophistication. Number 3 for the win!
