BOUGAINVILLEA BLISS

I dont’ know about you, but I have so many images in my files that I return to time and time again for inspiration. This is one of them. I absolutely love Bougainvillea – it reminds me of some of my most favorite places in the world – so for me, this photo captures pure [...]

I love bougainvillea as well. The color of the flowers are simply stunning. The pink is great, but I think my favorite bougainvillea color is the orange flower.

ROOM OF THE WEEK 11.8

Pablo Paniagua

This gorgeous space has been haunting me on Pinterest – every time I see it I fall in love all over again! Which is why it absolutely deserves a Room of the Week title, and a full tour! I think by this point we can safely say that I’m a traditional glamourist at heart when [...]

Cassandra- I love, love, love this space (as I pin each photo). It might be a guy thing. I swear there must be something in the water in Spain, because this is the second Spanish designers I’ve come across with an incredible design aesthetic. Thanks for introducing me to Pablo Paniagua.

You’re right about the overstyling, it definitely needs a little breathing room throughout. Wow to that ceiling height, those windows and that raspberry couch!

I love this room, I blogged about it a couple weeks ago. I think I mainly love color palette. I definitely agree it could use some paring down in the accessories department but I forgive it since I love the rug so much.

I count eleven tables and not one with enough room to comfortably host a cocktail! Definitely over styled. That said, I love the detail of the yellow back on some of the neutral pillows.

I think this space is really beautiful — especially the colors. But my eye is going every which way, trying to find something to focus on! I do think a little simplifying could go a long way in this space as it seems just a tad overdone. Still, lots of gorgeous elements goin’ on in here!

Since I’m “all about curves” (arches, spheres, etc.) the geometrics give me pause…you could do “wonders” with it though…. franki

ROOM OF THE WEEK :: 11.1

jackie astier // elle decor bedroom

Was is just me, or was October a crazy little month? I have a feeling that things aren’t about to slow down either (I mean… the holidays are pretty much upon us, people) so today, I’m thinking we all deserve a room that – even if we can only go to in our heads – [...]

I love that mid-century style sofa at the foot of the bed. It’s such a clever idea! We have one just like it that we need to re-upholster… badly! But, once we do, this may not be a bad idea for our bedroom! Thanks for the inspiration!!

You know, I moved our setee’ from the living room to the foot of our bed and I sit there SO MUCH MORE than I ever did before. Now I’m going to move my outdoor lutyens bench to the foot of the guest room bed. Do it! franki

PIN PALS :: PLUMS + SPARKLE + ROSES

pinterest mashup - plums

Have you ever looked at your pins on pinterest and seen a reoccurring theme? It happens to me ALL the time. My eyes immediately go to the images that are matching up – usually due to a color or motif. So I thought it would be fun to share some of those with you in a new [...]

BURGUNDY + BLUE

burgundy + blue_ASOS fall2012

I’ve been noticing a trend for fall that isn’t exactly new, but it’s definitely still developing… The combination of deep burgundy or berry reds with pale blues. I have to say, I’m a fan. And I like the rule that as the one shade goes up, the other goes down… So that you always end [...]

INTERIORS TO INSPIRE: PRINTS + PLUM

Angie1

Maggie here, back with an inspiring home by designer Angie Hranowsky. From shades of blush to plum, and with shimmering accents and a kitchen to swoon over, this home has an elegant femininity without being too sweet. Natural textures and ethnic textiles keep a palette that is mostly purple from looking like a little girl’s [...]

    What a beautiful home!

I think the key to having a purple or pink room come across as elegant rather than little-girly is to include natural elements like wood and stone.

COLOR ME :: FUSCHIA

46513808621715617_mcwtcgBr_c

It started with just a little dose. Richly colored peonies. A throw blanket…. Then it grew into accent pieces. Preferably with a touch of brass hardware, just to make things extra glamorous. But before I knew it, I was having a full on love affair. With fuschia. I mean, seriously? How could you not want [...]

I had the same progression. At first I was loving just a pop here and there and then I needed just a little more. And then more. And then I found that I couldn’t get enough fuchsia – I’m an addict!
