PERFECT PALETTES :: RETRO REVIVAL

retro-yellow-pink-burnt-orange-palette

Whenever I’m in an inspiration funk for something to write about on the blog – usually first thing on a Monday morning – I dive into my color files to find something that’s speaking to me. Today? It was this… I’ve really been into these retro-inspired color palettes lately. That vintage brown. A little mustard yellow. […]

    I love this palette! it’s almost the one I have set up for my living room so yay. I wrote a post about color palettes last week and I had so much fun looking for the right ones, super inspiring.

    Perfect timing! Though I gravitate to a palette of white and neutrals with texture and maybe some deep emerald green thrown in, I’m trying to be a little bolder in the new place I’m sharing with my boyfriend. Some new-to-us mid century chairs with bright blue upholstery are the jumping off point for this brave new world of colour and this is the kind of fun clashy-contrast that I want to pair it with.

ONE ROOM INSPIRATION :: A BOLD JEWEL BOX

Tilton Fenwick sofa detail

I’ve enjoyed putting my sourcing skills to the test lately with these more unique inspiration rooms, but this bold beauty designed by design duo Tilton Fenwick might have been the greatest challenge yet! Barely a peek into the brightly colored space offers a glimpse at how saturated it is with print, pattern and jewel tones… And, indeed, […]

INTERIORS TO INSPIRE :: BOLD + BEAUTIFUL IN THE BEDROOM

I have always been drawn to this bedroom belonging to Samantha Knapp. The layers (between pattern, texture and even furniture) feel light and welcoming in true bohemian style, but the layers themselves are – for the  most part – quite classic…. On the bed, tartan meets florals and fur. Mod dressers hang with Venetian mirrors and antique […]

    What a bold space. Love all the saturated colors and mixtures of patterns. Its great to see the antiques in there as well. Everything in this space definitely feel like it is loved. Thanks for sharing.

    I’m not sure i’m brave enough, or clever enough to get it spot on in my home. My bedroom is also quite small, so too much going on may not work. You’re right that its such a fine balance. The bright blue velvet headboard really drawers me in to this room, its such a bright block of colour and a great focal point. Fabulous headboards can be a great place to start in a room and then you can design around it. The reds and patterned curtains/cushions break up the block, softening the look, adding layers and style.

GET THE LOOK :: THE MUST-HAVE PINK COAT

pink-coats-+-black-coco+kelley

So, apparently we are all incredibly obsessed with pink coats this winter. I’d be shocked if you haven’t already seen a few posts on the subject. But for me personally, I think the reason I find myself drawn to them is the simple fact that pink is the perfect way to soften up the total […]

    Well, now I need a pink coat! Main problem being it’s Spring in Sydney and unseasonally warm so it wouldn’t get much wear. A girl can dream~

    I’m loving the whole concept of it – it seems like this winter, pink coats are the new camel coats. It softens a look so much and seems to go with any colour! I’m still searching for ‘the one.’ Hopefully, I’ll find it by winter.

SMOLDERING SALMON

ariella chezar

It’s not exactly rare that when you look at your closet – or your home – you have a color that emerges as a favorite. Mine is obviously coral. (That’s right – it’s not green.) But this weekend, while pulling out my summer clothes, I had an epiphany in the shape of my favorite pair of salmon-colored […]
