Farmhouse Style Meets Organic Modern In Our Thanksgiving Table

I mentioned last week that Thanksgiving was all about keeping things simple for me. But that, of course, doesn't mean neglecting the table. Rather, it means creating an atmosphere that feels cozy, casual, and ready for a feast.

And, this year, we're actually hosting Thanksgiving at our home! So I decided to pull together a setting in my own dining room, just the way we'll be setting it come Thursday...

I don't really know what to call this style, really. It's a little bit farmhouse, a little organic, and a little modern. Sort of like our entire house, I guess! My inspiration started with our farmhouse table and those modern terra cotta planters. I've been wanting to use them for quite some time now and I thought they'd make a fun addition to the table.

From a practical standpoint, they're also ideal for this narrow table setting! The fact that they're elevated helps keep more space clear for food, and still allows guests to see each other, for the most part. coco kelley organic modern thanksgiving tabletopcoco kelley organic modern thanksgiving tabletopcoco kelley organic modern thanksgiving tabletop

For the florals, Cozbi did an amazing job selecting each element for these arrangements! Since the vessels were large but shallow, it made the most sense not to do live florals, but to keep them dry. I also loved the idea of this 'modern cornucopia' where we could add items like the mini corn and pomegranates. I wanted to keep the colors muted, with a hint of warmth, and they really turned out beautifully. coco kelley organic modern thanksgiving tabletopcoco kelley organic modern thanksgiving tabletopcoco kelley organic modern thanksgiving tabletop

The place settings were kept intentionally simple. I took one dried element from the centerpieces and lay them on these affordable ikea dishes. The shallow glassware and cork coasters are also ikea! I guess maybe that's why this table has a slightly Swedish farmhouse vibe to me. That along with our blue walls!

I love the thrifted mismatched silver for the flatware here. I mentioned before that I'm way into silver this year, and I'm keeping that going for our own table!

One of my other favorite details on the table are the candle holders and twisted tapers - which I featured on my Thanksgiving tabletop inspiration post! In fact, if you go back and look at that post I think you'll see where some of this inspiration really came from.

This table is proof that things don't have to be expensive or fussy to be beautiful - and that feels like a true expression of what this holiday is all about. A time to be grateful for all the things that we have, and not go too over-the-top. For me, sharing a meal with friends and family is one of my most favorite things in the world, and always feels special, no matter what the setting!
