As if the first day of September wasn’t sign enough that fall is on the way, today the weather in Seattle made a drastic change to grey skies and rain, which is making me want to cozify EVERYTHING. So, I hunted down a cozy interior to match my mood for our Room of the Week! This fresh, but cozy modern-country style living space with warm, worn woods and plenty of white is giving me serious inspiration for the living room makeover I’m planning on this fall…
I’ve actually always been a fan of these daybeds as sofas, and their depth helps fill out this wide space nicely. I think I love them so much because of the opportunity for piles of pillows! The clean lines of the modern bookcase and coffee table help keep things fresh and airy in this space.
This funky corner could be perplexing to most home owners, but I love how the owner, Anna Hillegass, who owns The Foundry in Minneapolis, took a bit of a merchandising approach to the spot with bookshelves and a little display area for that sweet tiny chair and plants.
Last but not least – the pair of chairs chosen to add a bit of extra seating round out the space perfectly as they combine modern lines with a raw wood that pairs perfectly with that farmhouse feel. What I truly love about this room is the layering going on between the textiles and the addition of worn materials from baskets and wood bowls to side tables and artwork – all of it adds personality and warmth to this lovely, lofty space.
