After returning from a beach vacation last week, I feel inspired and creatively rejuvenated, but even more so- I’m itching to bring a little bit of the coastal vibe back home this summer. Sooo, naturally I thought I’d share a charming beach cottage living room as a source of inspiration and items to get the look at home!
This bright and open living room is full of warm natural textures. The woven elements like rattan chairs, bamboo shades, and woven baskets are obvious staples in this coastal retreat. Complimenting these materials monochromatically, the oversized burl wood coffee table, flokati wool rug, and organic driftwood chandelier look so glam(!) while making a statement.
All of this against a crisp blue and white color palette is the epitome of a modern beach cottage. I certainly wouldn’t mind spending my summers here! Here’s how we got the look:
1 driftwood chandelier // 2 seersucker pillow and herringbone pillow // 3 blue marble swirl base table lamp // 4 woven malawi chair // 5 decorative coral // 6 woven african basket in blue and silver // 7 burl wood coffee table // 8 wood drum side table // 9 blue and white striped rug
That woven chair is calling my name!! The shape, the color, the pattern… I’m loving everything about it. I think this space would translate really well to a sunroom, conservatory, or heated porch. Do you guys ever get the blues after vacay and wish you could bring a little bit of it home? xo, Sarah
