This weekend finally threw me into the new year with abandon - we took down all the holiday decorations (always feels so good!) and gave the house a good clean and purge, making way for so many new things in 2016. I feel like I'm a bit behind in getting refocused, but reinspired? We've got that taken care of around here, starting with a bunch of new favorite selections in the shop for our January Edit.
One of my goals for our home this year as we continue to decorate is to do something I've been getting a bit better at, which is adding color. I think I've finally figured out how I do this best for myself. There's a lot of design that is psychology - so many people say they don't like color in their home, but when you figure out the right way to do it, they fully embrace the addition. This is how I'm doing it!
1 blush flush mount glass chandelier // 2 brass globe pendant // 3 velvet upholstered bed frame in slate blue // 4 mongolian lamb burgundy pillow // 5 celadon nightstand // 6 green marble side table // 7 pyrite art series // 8 celadon bubble table lamp // 9 gold hand door knob
Not a ton of pattern, if any, but solid blocks of soft tones here and there is what I'm envisioning for our living room and these picks are falling right in line! I'm especially loving those celadon moments - but only paired with something a bit more rich like a burgundy. The bed frame is on my mind for our master bedroom too... love that rich upholstery that's not too fussy. To me it's all about finding the right balance of masculine and feminine.
