Emerald Studio :: Styling A Game Table Nook

We haven't made much of a fuss over our little design business over here on coco+kelley yet, but all of that is about to change. For the past year - since launching The Emerald Studio back in October - we have been hard at work, and it's finally time we share some of that work with you! Starting with one of our current favorite clients...

I first met Deb Achak when she wandered into one of our pop-up shops. I sold her my grandmother's antique chair and a fuschia file cabinet - two highly contrasting pieces that explain everything about this woman's fantastic taste. Refined. But not too serious.

Deb proceeded to tell me about her beautiful home in West Seattle that was a former B&B...

When she first moved into the home, she worked with Seattle interior designer Lisa Leo  immensely (and continues to do so) in many of the major design decisions that lay the foundation for the home. Since then Deb has taken much of the design into her own hands and the home has been a labor of love for her.

As we all know, homes are an ever-evolving process, so when Deb was ready to put the finishing touches on a few corners of her home, she asked us for assistance, and we were more than happy to become a part of this home's design legacy! Starting with the details in this little game table nook...

The only thing that was here when Sara and I arrived was the tulip table. We rounded things out with drop lighting, that gorgeous Serena & Lily mirror, vintage bentwood chairs, and a little styling!

To the other side of the nook is this sweet little moment:

A beautiful antique piano that came with the house was in need of a little styling assistance, and a new bench. We selected this playful but subdued fabric to play off of the black and white keys in a fresh way. I love that from afar it doesn't register as too much pattern for the space.
