ROOM OF THE WEEK :: 6.18

Without a tropical vacation or exotic getaway on the books this year, I’ve found myself craving spaces that at least make me think that I’m in a whole other part of the world… enter this week’s room:

This insanely gorgeous, huge, light-filled solarium dining and living area belonging to Katie Tarses is my idea of heaven.  I like how the lighting doesn’t compete with all the stunning architecture. Is it just me or do all those layered rugs make you want to lounge on the floor, despite all the available seating?

Of course, the hacienda style home lends itself well to this space – a luxury not all of us have. But, even if it were half the size, creating a nook like this would be an amazing retreat. The key, of course, is tons of greens, piles of textiles, and an airy vibe.

It’s really not that hard to create a total escape within your own home! In fact, I’ve come up with five easy summer home decorating ideas doing just that for my latest guest post over on theFIX, so hop on over to check that out too.

That is the most stunning room I’ve ever seen. Could you even imagine coming home to someplace that incredible. I’ll be saving this for some future inspiration.
