I can’t believe it’s Friday already. I can’t believe it’s May already! The next few months are going to be packed for me with travel and weddings and photo shoots, so this weekend, I’m going to try and take advantage of our sunshine and get outside to soak it in while I can…
Do you have any fun Cinco de Mayo plans? It’s my favorite eating (and let’s be honest – drinking) holiday. I die for good Mexican food! Since I’ll be heading to LA next week, I hope to get my fix then, as Seattle isn’t exactly known for our authentic tamales.
In the meantime, I’m bookmarking this awesome bar solution for my next apartment (which will have outdoor space) so come next year, I’ll be serving up some Palomas on my own patio.
Usually, I go for grapefruit and vodka, but who can pass up a Paloma on Cinco de Mayo? Here’s a yummy recipe to get your weekend going…
Thyme Paloma Cocktail // serves one
- 4-6 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1 teaspoon sugar, superfine if possible
- 1 shot anejo tequila or mezcal
- 1 shot fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
- Juice of 1/2 a lime
- Club soda
Muddle the thyme with the sugar in a cocktail shaker. Pour in tequila and juices and stir until sugar is dissolved. Strain into an ice-filled 6-ounce glass, then top off with club soda. Enjoy the weekend!

That is a great solution for a small outdoor bar area, never would have thought of that!

This is the perfect tequila drink. I love the hue, and I want something else to mix for my friends besides margaritas. Lovely!
Nothing beats a liquor bar on the patio on a hot day.
