Blame it on safari withdrawls, but I am loving the idea of upping the animal ante in my wardrobe with some major, large scale giraffe prints…
Inspired by this vintage image of Gloria Vanderbilt, I went on my own little safari (ahem) for something similar. And, my oh my, did I find a goodie.
The boutique label A.W.A.K.E. created by Natalia Alaverdian, fashion director of Harper’s Bazaar Russia, is exactly what I was looking for! But even better, with the petite editor designing updated versions of some very classic silhouettes…
I, for one, hope that there is another collection from Miss Alaverdian on the way very soon. In the meantime, you can see the entire lookbook on her pinterest page, and shop the collection on moda operandi.

Ooo I’m loving the black giraffe print so much!!
Love the black and white giraffe! A fresh take on the b&w trend.
Love the old photo of Gloria Vanderbilt, love giraffe print too!
That last dress is beyond amazing!
There’s a lot of “splotch” there…however…who am I to say wearing my leopard sweats…franki
