MORE MERRICK, PLEASE.

It’s a rare thing that any of us are lucky enough to be able to follow a designer’s progress from their beginning stages to a well-known name, and one success story that is most deserving of all she has achieved thus far is the fun and fantastic Heidi Merrick.

We first sang her praises back in 2009, when we featured her not once, but twice for her bright, ruffle-front Judy dress. Since then we’ve seen her intrinsic style shine through in pieces that celebrate her love of the beach life, and her playfulness with color and print. But what may not shine through so obviously is her attention to detail and cut. I can honestly say I’ve never worn more flattering dresses in my life – ironic coming from a designer who admits she’d much prefer to be in pants! And her latest collection? Well, it surely hasn’t let us down.

One of my favorite pieces, this coat is such perfect shades of ocean blues, I can almost hear the waves. So ideal for brightening up spring wardrobe layers!

I’ve already mentioned how essential a black leather (vegan of course!) dress will be to the wardrobe this season and next, so do yourself a favor and just get it already! As for me, I’m loving the coral full-length dress for a possible wedding choice this summer, while the two-toned baseball tee is really topping my wish list. And as for Heidi – I can’t wait to follow her contributions to the fashion world for years to come.

Which piece would you be adding to your wardrobe?
