I’ve been staring at this room for days because I’m fairly obsessed with the paint job here. Never in a million years (ok, maybe in a million) would I have thought to continue the paint from an accent wall behind a bookcase into the floors. Or vice versa, I guess. But I love the feel it gives to the room – and it’s surprisingly less overwhelming than I would have thought.
It also made me realize how much more comfortable I am with color on the floors than the walls. I’m such a fan of white walls! But maybe it’s time to push the boundaries a bit. It seems like so many of my inspiration images these days are white white white… time to take a little more chance on color, perhaps?
Something like this could be an interesting place to start…
You still get the white, but a splash of color, and it’s unique. I’ve seen this look popping up quite a bit actually (like here) – the ceiling color being brought down into the walls. Maybe in my next loft life, I’ll explore this possibility…

I love these color ideas! I always stay clear of bright colors on walls but these are inspiring me to push out of that trend too!
