If you remember my post around Thanksgiving, I made a commitment this holiday season to Give Big Shop Small by highlighting some of my favorite local shops in Seattle as well as small online shops in my gift guides, and this week will kick off a week of plenty of each! I thought we’d start with two of my favorite stores that happen to be neighbors in the downtown area here…
Watson Kennedy has become a Seattle staple in my book. Whenever I’m stumped for a gift or in need of inspiration, this is the store I head to. I could spend hours combing through the back area where barware, art, cozy living accessories, and even some children’s goods are tucked into every corner…
In the front of the shop you’ll find goods for the gourmand, fresh tables set by color, tons of tabletop goodies and more…
In short – this place has it all. The owner and curator – Ted Kennedy Watson – has a true passion for collecting beautiful objects and a pure talent for putting them all together. If you pick one place to pop into while in the downtown area, this is it! But while you’re at it…
Might I suggest popping literally next door to {far4} – an entirely different experience in itself! Focused on their beautiful porcelain wares, this shop also features local jewelry designers and artists.
It’s the perfect place to shop for the people who are impossible to shop for. I love browsing their ‘fruit’ (I own a strawberry) – and all of their goods are sure to be a conversation piece.
I mean, seriously. How badass is that skull? I kinda love it. Take a look at their extensive website for items large and small and your’e sure to find some unique treasure to add to your home. I especially love their tabletop selections as well!

Wow I wish I was in Seattle! This looks like the coolest store ever!! I love how it’s separated by the colors!! =)I gotta check out their website!!

So awesome that you’re following through on the small shops guide! Also selfishly relishing in this as I need some major clueing in about special spots in the area. Very intrigued about Watson Kennedy and may just have to go check out..
Ooh Watson-Kennedy looks AMAZIIIIING. Wish I was there.
I love Watson and Kennedy! I have missed the ferry several times from getting lost in all their treasures. I am working on a gallery wall and I have some of their vintage music to frame!
Lovely…
I love going to Watson Kennedy when I’m in Seattle!! So overdue for a sourcing trip to Seattle and Portland…
Watson Kennedy looks so home-y and eclectic! I love the gallery wall and how the tables are organized by color. It seems like the perfect place to find a great gift!
I spent hours in this store and brought home quite a few items. There are not enough shops like this!
This shop is amazing!
xx
Watson Kennedy has long been a favorite of mine and I have literally planned trips to Seattle around a long visit to WK. Once around the store is never enough. I must take the time to linger, touch, smell, plan and enjoy every single beautiful thing. I think I’m due for another visit!
What a thrill to see these two shops featured on your blog. My hubs and I were in Seattle last week for three days. These were two of the shops we visited. Hubby loved Watson Kennedy and I Far4. Fell in love with the VGY scarves at Far4, which I should have bought but didn’t, since we were heading down to Portland for 4 wonderful days of tax free shopping : ). They ship to Canada so I’m looking forward to owning one of these beautiful scarves. Two fantastic shops!
