SHOP SMALL :: A SEATTLE GIFT GUIDE

Good morning friends! I had this post all written and scheduled to go up today, but in the wake of yesterday’s events, things like gift guides and celebrating seem to be quite secondary don’t they? But, there is one thing that still makes this post relevant today, and that is community.

I love this little city of mine quite a lot these days. There are so many people here that I cherish from the bottom of my heart. So many of them who are parents themselves. And after yesterday, all I want to do is get out and see them, and hug them, and hug their little ones, and support and strengthen the community we have here while we all do our part with thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families in Newtown.

So I’m off to start my morning with brunch with an old friend. Then to the Blak\Designmart pop up shop where to support local creatives and designers, some of which are featured here today in our Shop Small Seattle gift guide…

The rest of my day – lucky for me – will be spent with many many college friends as this is the day we all get together for the one game Gonzaga comes to play in Seattle every year! I’m sure many of them will have their kids in tow, and I can’t wait to see all of them and their smiling faces. I know many of us are holding our loved ones – especially the little ones – a bit tighter this weekend and sending hopes of healing to a community whose world was changed yesterday.
