It’s been two months since I first shouted with joy at the fact that I NOW HAVE AN OFFICE SPACE! Since then, I think I’ve been home often enough to take advantage of it approximately seven times. But, November has arrived, and with it, some downtime for me to finally start getting my act together.
So – I’m finally sharing a peek at the space!
The downstairs is awesome (obviously). It’s a huge studio that we use for shoots, complete with kitchen and a little lounging area. Upstairs is the loft where I share a space with two other gals….
As you walk up the steps, you literally land in my office. I chose this area because it’s got amazing natural light – you can see how the ceiling goes up to a big window and some cool architecture!
This is the view from the other side. Don’t you want to yank that lighting right off the wall? I’m trying to figure out if there might be a way to add a chandelier in, but at the very least, I want to replace that canned uglyness with something a little cooler.
While I created my apartment on a budget, there were a few pieces I definitely splurged on. Here, however, I’m trying to reign in the spending and do as much as I can with craigslist finds and pieces I brought in from the apartment. We’ll see how that goes. In the meantime, I’ve narrowed in on some inspiration!
I loved the look of this dining space, and am pretty convinced I’ll end up with a tulip table as a desk because I feel ridiculously confined at real desks for some reason, and I also think a circular table will be more dynamic for the space. Love the pop of green, obviously, but Panton chairs would be a bit tough to sit in all day! The huge corkboard and chandelier are also callin’ my name. I only wish we could also set up a bar upstairs… hmm…. (don’t think I won’t do it!).
I love this storage area in Aerin Lauder’s new offices for two reasons. 1) It’s practical. I could definitely use some skinny drawers for little things like markers and craft supplies, and some larger cabinets or drawers for paperwork. 2) It feels so awesomely personal and cozy! One of the things lacking in my office right now are all my fun knick knacks, artwork and props. I need to slowly migrate those in so I can feel at home!
I would also love some shelving for books, at least one piece of cozy furniture and a nice collective feel. It’s a tall order for a small area, but I think I just might be able to pull it off. Stay tuned, my friends! Operation C+K Office is on! What would you do with this space?? Suggestions? Orders? I’m open to it all!

So amazing! The light just pours in. I can’t wait to see what you do with it! xx
What a gorgeous space! Lots of potential but definitely coming along.
Love, Love, Love this space and all natural light and high ceilings. I am thinking mid-century modern design with the walls kept white and the furniture sleek, colorful, and sexy. And we mustn’t forget incorporating a few pieces of bold, colorful artwork to highlight the drama of the space. I think this aesthetic will best compliment the gorgeous architecture. Think Campbell Brown’s Loft as designed by DD Allen. Checkout the link below for the images.
I’m sure you can find some fab mid-century pieces to pull it all together on Craigslist and Etsy, and you can score a few pieces of fab artwork that will do the trick using your influence
. Let me know if you need ideas on how to do this
.
Good luck, excited for you, and keep us updated.

Awesome!! I love that you have the downstairs and get to share with others. OK, reallly I’m just jealous. I so miss being around other creatives on a daily basis!
Definitely art, low bookshelves. Do you have room for a daybed? love the circular table for a desk. I never feel like desks have enough space for me.
So excited for you! Can’t wait to see what you do with the place. It has fantastic bones.
