Yesterday, as Sandy swept the east coast, I was glued to my twitter, my news streams, my TV… pretty much anything that helped assure me that my friends in NYC were safe and weathering the storm…
Today, my heart goes out to everyone in the cities across the coast who were effected by the storm. But, specifically, my loves from the Upper Eastside to Brooklyn whose safety I so feared for yesterday. It made me realize how insanely valuable some of the friendships I’ve forged with my fellow blog gals have become. And how much that amazing city has found its way into my heart. New York, I love you. And, I can wholeheartedly say that if my flight wasn’t cancelled, I’d be there tomorrow, volunteering alongside you all. If any city can pick itself up and carry on, it’s you.

Love you Cass!
My flight was cancelled too, but hearing (and not hearing) from friends today, I’m a little relieved that they fared better than others. The East Coast has a long road ahead but are full of resilient people and I look forward to visiting the city that never sleeps next week!
The Soos Is Loose
All of my friends and family live in that area. I’ve been a nervous wreck!
This picture is so freaking adorable. Touristy but cute. Quite the look to pull off.
