IN THE (DECADENT) DETAILS

Alright friends – it’s time for a mid-week pick-me-up and there’s no better way to do that than piling on a fabulous dose of non-reality! Instead of our usual easily-replicated In the Details, today it’s all about decadent, over-the-top details that are providing major inspiration…

As if the stunning tile and antique artwork weren’t enough, this dramatic doorway literally took my breath away! I love the way the lattice-style trim combined with the tile gives that outdoor feel, but the brass finishes it off leaving no doubt that you’re in the presence of luxury.

I love a good art wall. I love chairs. And, I love that this room spares neither. I mean, why wouldn’t you collect just as many chairs as artwork if you could? The mix of prints and (ahem) prints (surely they’re originals, though) is a work of art on its own, if I do say so myself.

Then, of course, there’s the king of maximalism to top them all – the lavish and flearless Tony Duquette. Putting a disco ball in the middle of a chandelier? The man was pure genius, obviously. This is one I may have to find a way to do myself someday!
