STELLA INSPIRED

I’m sure some of you have seen Stella McCartney’s 2013 Resort collection by now, but I have to say that I’m continuously inspired every time I look at these particular images. The party, the patterns, the palette – it’s all just too good to be passed up.

The theme itself was that of a little carnival – the striped awnings playing perfectly off of the looks. Which is genius because it’s really only when you see this collection together, in just the right environment, that it really comes to life. Look how fun these elements are alongside each other! They would be just as sweet for a little girl’s room, or a summer tabletop!

I love that runway designers are showing their pieces in action like this  - it provides such a different type of appeal. Runway can feel so unattainable. This is the opposite. At a party, guest have the opportunity to touch the fabrics and see the details up close, to interact with them, to not have them be taken so seriously. So smart.

Another amazing group of colors and patterns all together. This one definitely has me inspired to translate it into a tabletop. Can’t you picture lots of golden elements combined with pops of chintzy florals and leopard print? Yes yes yes!

Perhaps even adding a little yellow lace to that mix? It’s just over-the-top fun! What would you translate these combos into?

Genius move isolating the prints and colors for ease of designing! LOVE that leopard/yellow palette best for year round! I haven’t seen these images but judging from that first shot I’m DYING for the entire collection…especially the chintzy florals…omg G’ma’s patterns are trending again, can’t wait!!!
