GUTSY GLASS :: CUT + COLORED

Months ago, while browsing through my favorite antique mall here in Seattle, I came across two unique mirrors that were definitely art deco in style, and had some blue glass incorporated into the design. I thought they were kinda unique and cool, so I snapped a few pics and moved on.

Then, at the last High Point Market, I spied a couple of colored glass mirrors in the Bungalow 5 showroom. After that? Two more fabulous faceted mirrors showed up on my pinterest (one from always-inspiring pins of kelly wearstler, the other in nicole of sketch 42′s review of kips bay). I decide this was no longer a coincidence.

If this is the beginnings of a trend, then I hope to see it develop into more really rad product. Right now, most colored glass mirrors that are available are vintage – and not exactly budget friendly. The pieces I found here in Seattle started around $200 which is much more budget friendly than what you’ll find on 1st dibs, but definitely not in as great of shape! Of course, the two green ones are my favorite, but those blues are so vibrant too! Would be so cool to see someone take this art-deco influenced style and update it a bit more!

All beautiful but my favorite is the green mirror from Todd Alexander Romano’s dining room (in the Kips Bay Show House). Thanks for sharing the link on 1stdibs – not that I’ll be running off and buying it this instant but dare to dream!

I have #1. My mother bought it many years ago, used. She had it resilvered.

During a move, it had some damage. I would love to get it repaired. This was one of my mother’s favorite items, and it has a lot of sentimental value.
Also, would you have any idea of it’s value?
