I realize it’s probably 100 degrees in the desert right now (if not more) but thet’s not stopping me from dreaming about a Palm Springs getaway these days… pool lounging and furniture hunting? Yes please!
Now, I have to admit, I’m pretty over the mid-century modern look when it’s used in abundance. This comes from too many people in Seattle rescuing poor mid-century knockoffs from thrift stores and doing their whole house in them. It reminds me of post-college years. But this, my friends… this is how you do it right!
Notice that there is a bit of tradition and tailoring involved here that less sophisticated designs usually leave out. Just the right kick of kitch and a nod to a mid-century palette (mustard and avacado) without having the colors dominate the space is all you need to complete the look.
See that little nook of a hallway to the right? Here’s the closeup:
All I can say is that I hope that a lounge chair and pool is also waiting for me outside!

Love the art work/picture on the third photo.
Definitely feeling the mustard + avocado. Who knew!

Oooo very nice. I agree a room with 100% midcentury is too much, makes you feel like you are the neighbours of that 70`s show house!
btw, any idea who the swimming pool art is by?

I’m obsessed with this! Your right, they did it just right.
Ah, the pics are perfect!
so beautiful I love this room!
The sofa in the second shot is so perfectly styled! I’d love to know where everything is from. Palm Springs has so many great little shops for treasure hunting, it makes me want to hop on a plane right now! Thanks for posting!!! ~Sarah
