COUNTER CULTURE

Some of you may remember that my father owns a restaurant here in Seattle – or I should say used to own one. We’ve been in the process of looking for a new space for quite some time now which has proven to be more of a challenge than we’d hoped. The only good news is that in the meantime, I’ve been gathering tons of inspiration for the new space once we find it…

One piece of the puzzle that I’m obsessed with is what the bar counter will look like. I’d love to do something cool and different – which is entirely possible if we keep the space small enough. The idea of mixing really raw woods, where you can see the grain and feel that organic texture, with a super modern or glamorous material is so visually appealing. I may have some convincing to do with pops, but I’m completely sold on these looks.

Love that mirror counter, and of course the hot pink top as well! You’ve got me wishing for a custom kitchen! Have a wonderful week.

I recently moved and am now thoroughly enjoying the decorating process (an industrial meets organic look is exactly what I’ve been going for as well). I love this bar idea and I think you will be able to talk your Dad into it too! ;) x

I love all the sleek lines in these photos, especially the panelling on the ceiling. The bar in the first photo is stunning, I’d really love a mini bar in my living room.
