MALACHITE + CHEETAH + BLUE = OH MY!

Now that almost every piece of furniture has been selected for my apartment, I’ve been looking for inspiration for how to style the rest of it up (once it all arrives, that is). I’ve ended up with much more of a black, white and neutral palette than I had originally planned (really, I shouldn’t be surprised) so that just means I need more punches of color and pattern… exactly like this!

Three elements here that I adore together make for a very sophisticated and chic style. Malachite, leopard or cheetah print, and the always classic blue. I prefer my punches of red or pink in florals, so I’ll take those too! Just watch – I’m going to practically guarantee these elements make a cameo in the apartment.

The one piece I haven’t decided on yet is a coffee table. I’ve been avoiding lucite because it just seems so obvious, but sometimes obvious means that it’s perfect. We’ll see.

And while we’re at it, this dining table is the perfect shade of deep navy. I’ve been thinking of doing something in this tone for mine (which I picked up at a consignment store for $50!) Because my living and dining areas run together, I adore the use of this tonal rug to anchor and tie in the spaces to.

Oh, and guess what? I finally have updated shots of where things are at in my space, so I’ll be sharing them sooooooon!

Love that rug! We have a Duralee 14262 in Oatmeal that looks just like it, but it’s so interesting as a rug!

I’m in the market for a coffee table too. Have been avoiding lucite because I feel like it is too trendy and don’t want a glass top table though I might have to settle on this. Where are all the gold and white marble tables?!

Those elements match your white-themed house perfectly, since colored and designed ones are compatible with plain white. I’m totally excited to see the other parts of your house! I just might get some inspiration from your house for when I move into my new apartment.

Love the Cheetah! Is your space painted white? If so, what color of paint did you use? I’m currently in a battle with white paint.

I love your thoughts on how you’ll add in pops of color. I’m a huge fan of navy. These rooms feel so fresh, crisp, and chic. Can’t wait to see what you end up doing!

@onestylishday – YOU SAID IT!. all i want is a marble-topped table that doesn’t cost a bajillion! a can’t handle glass tops. so lucite is my compromise… for now. *sigh*…

@anon – the cheetah x-bench is likely a custom piece. i know that ballard designs and serena and lily both have beautiful options!
