A HEAVENLY HALL…

Peering down this hallway reminds me exactly of my entryway (of which there really is none, really… just a hall).

I’ve got a print all ready to hang just like they have on the right, and have pretty much determined that my desk will be situated right where that table is. My question for you… do you think the bookshelves and the long hall of artwork on the left is too much? Or does it give it that collected, cozy library feel? I have a pair of bookshelves coming that I was considering putting in that very spot! And how about those x-benches? Hmm… I think I must have a pair in my home. It needs to happen!

I love bookshelves everywhere so it’s a go on those and the rest…I have no question whatever you do will be fabulous.

You can’t have too many books or too much art, even all co-mingling. No such thing.

I don’t think that it will be overwhelming – I think that the books and the art will actually compliment each other very well. It looks like it will be an amazing room!
I actually did a post on floor to ceiling book walls today so if you have a second perhaps there is something else there to inspire?!
Cannot wait to see your space when you are done, it is going to be stunning!

I gotta agree with Jessica – no such thing as too many books or too much art! The space looks loved and lived in as all homes should.

It looks great like it is. From the perspective shown, looking from the hall to the bookcases, it probably would look great *without* the art on the left, too. But once you get into the bookcase room, that long wall might become an issue (do you hang a big piece floating between the table and nothing?). Of course, depending on how you place your desk and relating objects, you could come up with a solution. But I can see why they did the gallery wall which covers the transition from entry to first room.

you can never have too many books. for the art work try a different style, hang them more organized, like a grid pattern or symmetrically so it does not look all over the place and then you can add different small objects that have a special meaning to you. everyone should have a pair of x-benches. I’ve been on the hunt for a long time for some reasonable priced one if you find any send them this way :)

That table and those stools need to go into my house…like right now. And yeah, I agree with most everyone else about the art/books concentration. If your art is interesting, then the more the merrier. The only reason I can see to put up less is if you want people focus on a particular piece.

I love it! As much as I dream of clean white and elegant, the other side of me always returns a cozy, layered and colorful room filled pieces that alone you could easily see in their proper places, but together charm you with wonder.

Definitely NOT too much! One of my all time favorite hallways. Go for it! I will only be very jealous!

Hmmmm I’m leaning to just a little too much. I always have a tough time editing but I think creating a resting spot for the eyes is always the way to go!
