WEST COAST IS THE BEST COAST?

I was very happy to spend a few sunny evenings this weekend with my girl Kelley, who is officially making her move to the NYC in a matter of weeks (we’ll miss her so much!). Which begs the question…

Which coast is the best coast? I’m a born (in Santa Monica) and raised (in Seattle) west coast girl, but there are many things about the east coast that I really love too. Where does your heart lie, and what do you love about your coast… or city for that matter? I’ve come to realize that if I am surrounded by people I love and a city that offers me inspiration and a coast line, I can handle just about anything… but my heart will always lie by the beach in my la la land.

Wow.. hard question! Especially for me, since I live in canada! :-) But when it comes to Canada, I must say that I LOVE the west coast. I live in the east now and I miss Vancouver so much. It’s more peaceful, life is more fun and relaxed. Everything is more on the go in the east and it’s colder also.
Although I love our lobster here! :-)

Wishing you a very blessed week!

I am an East Coast girl anxiously preparing to move to the West Coast this fall. I live in Boston and love this city with all my heart but NEED to see what all the hype is about over there.

I think the answer to this question depends on where you are now. Similarly to how girls with curly hair wish they had straight and girls with straight hair would do anything for a few curls. You always desire what you can’t have (or where you don’t live) ;)

I might not have a fair place to judge from – I’ve never been farther east than Chicago. But I love Seattle, even the rain. I feel completely at home here. I would like to visit NYC and Maine though. Maine has always sounded nice.

I live on the West Coast, (and love places like SF, Montecito, Vancouver, and Seattle) was born in the South, and raised in the Midwest…but I think my heart will always belong to NYC. There’s something about the energy in the air there that you just cannot find anywhere else.

Love New York and Boston but my heart belongs to California, Santa Cruz beaches will always own me. What a great question…

Oh gosh, definitely the West Coast! :) Northern California and Oregon girl here, although I did spend my college years in the Midwest and all my immediate family now lives on the East Coast. While the rest of the country has its perks, this is home :)

california girl through and through. and married a california boy. so i think we will never leave! both of our parents are in the state, and I can’t imagine a life away from my family!

(p.s. I haven’t really done the east coast, but from what I hear about the cold winters, I would not be able to handle it!)

I’ve lived in the “Fourth” coast area (Texas — yes, we have a coast too!) for eons. Love NYC and so many East Coast areas. But I’ve dreamed of being a California girl since third grade. Love Carmel and Monterey Bay, Newport Beach and all the sunny California beaches. I’d give up square footage to live in a quaint bungalow or cottage on the West Coast any day — as long as someone else is paying for it. Can’t beat the cost of living and taxes here on the Third Coast.

Have mercy! I meant Third Coast — I’m sleep deprived and should not have answered without some caffeine assistance. So sorry!

I love both coasts, but I feel like I have to take a stand for the Midwest here and say…

…there’s no coast like no coast. ;)

Wow, this is a question I’ve been asking myself for a few months now. I’m an East Coast girl born and raised–my whole life is here–but lately I have been struggling with the itch to move West (although, it has waned a bit now that the weather in New York is getting warmer). I admit that I have the best of both worlds where I am situated on Long Island…a short drive to the east and I am lounging on the beaches of the Hamptons, a train ride to the west and I am taking in the sights and sounds of the West Village. Even though I’m pretty content at the moment, I still can’t help but think that the second I hear another one of those weather reports calling for 36″ of snow I’m going to pack my bags and move it on down to SoCal.

I love these prints! I’m from the DC area but went to college in SoCal and while I had sort of planned the move to CA to be a permanent one, once I was there I realized I was too much of an east coaster for Orange County! While I’ll always have a soft spot for CA, I’m now back in DC with a new appreciation for seasons and all things east coast!

I was born and raised in Seattle and currently live in Philadelphia – I love the east coast but am so so thankful to have grown up with a mountain view, an ocean view and a forest view. I love the energy I get from the East Coast and the perspective I get when I go back West. I’m so excited to explore the South and Mid-West in the coming years as well as spend more time in those lovely western states.

Love the bustle of the East Coast. The varied geography of Cali is amazing. But…. I’ll take our SW Florida Gulf Coast chillin attitude
